Probably for the same reason Brad and Dave had acoustic instruments.
I can imagine it would be quite difficult to fit a drum set in the room they were shooting the video at, plus they probably just felt that it fit the aesthetic they were going for in the video.
Maybe it has something to do with the CGI they used on Rob's face to make his eye look melted, like he had to be sitting still and not moving around while playing drums for it to work (I don't know I'm just making this up) or maybe they thought it would look better if he was just sitting around.
This, yeah. It's obvious.
Not gonna lie, this made me chuckle.
The lyrics talk about being mad and irritated all the time ( in my interpetation) so relaxing (like Brad did in the video, but sitting) helps you feel better.
He's a drummer. Drummers sit.
He's the baby and babies tend to sit there and look pretty. Right?
To be fair, the rest of the band aren't playing instruments either. Brad for one is sitting with an acoustic guitar, and there is definitely no acoustic guitar in Papercut. I think the idea was meant to be that the band was just kind of chilling, and a bunch of weird shit was going on in the room (the paranoia theme of the song). Kind of corny, but it was 2000 and nu-metal videos were all like this back then. Lol.
^Probably not the best one to argue, since I was 1-2 years old back then, but I've barely ever seen a video like "Papercut"'s. I've always found it unique.
I worded it wrong. I meant that a lot of nu-metal videos back in the day were weird and didn't always makes sense and stuff like that. Basically just a lot of cool visuals and stuff going on. I'm sure the video for Papercut has some sort of direction meaning to Joe and/or the band, but this is just what I gathered from it.
Is this thread still alive?
*pokes with taser* I guess so.
