I have heard some ridiculous theories as to why his iPod will not work in this thread. With all due respect to everyone in here, are you pulling ideas out of a hat or are you licensed Apple Tech Support? Because as far as I'm concerned none of these theories are true.

    1. ITunes will work with your iPod the minute the iPod drivers and iTunes is installed. When I bought my Nano I had the entire thing working within 10 minutes.

    2. A virus on your PC will not transfer a virus to your iPod. That's a bit ludicrous. I've had my PC infected at least once since I had my Nano and I've never had to 'restore' it. Even with accidentally putting it through the washer it still works.

So please people, don't pull ideas out of your ass. It doesn't help the person in need of assistance.

    Okay yeah, it wasnt nice.

    My appolgies

But really not. You could reinstall itunes, and I think Format your IPOD. but im not sure about the IPOD.

if worst comes to worser, a new ipod is in call...with a reinstallation of Itunes that's up to date.

Have you tried calling Apple Customer service yet and is your iPod still in warranty?

If it's not under warranty they may still fix it but there will probably be a charge to repair it and get it working again. That will probably be your best bet if you haven't gotten in touch with them already.

See I didn't know lol. My old iPod Nano survived being put through the wash and then being literally 'hung out to dry' as it baked in the sun and lost all the water that got trapped inside. It still turned on after all this.

....basically my iPods are invicible.

It survived the wash? Nothing I ever have and ever will own with be that indestructable. In fact, they seem to break when I haven't even done anything to them. :whistling

I'd say just about anything can survive water. As long as you immediately turn the device off, take out the batteries and such, and let it dry out for a day or so, then you should be good. If there's water, it'll short-circuit.
