It did. If I remember correctly; I read something a few years ago that stated LP lost about 4 million sales of HT to downloading.

    That's a lot.

Over 10 million have been produced, but only 9,663,000 have been sold, or something like that. That means there's still like 400,000 sitting on the shelves. I think that's correct anyway.

    Strange list.

I didn't know anyone with Creed's album lmao. Eminem doesn't really suprise me at all though.

I don't think Creed got that popular outside of America (where they were huge for a few years).

I disagree with that statistic because that's assuming that everyone who downloaded it would've bought it if downloading was not an option, but that's not an assumption one can make. I know I've downloaded many albums that I would never waste my money on, yet my download of that album would be considered a lost sale for statistical purposes.

Yeah I was actually gonna make the point that we should take those kind of statistics with a grain of salt.

And you're right; but I guarantee you a lot of people downloaded it and never bought it, and that's a shame. Downloading isn't wrong persay, but if you like a CD you should buy it...even though the "album sales to artist compensation" ratio is an absolute joke.

this is a pretty monumental achievement, regardless of how many sales were lost. It's unfortunate but you gotta expect these things now a days. I think I actually downloaded the album first, then went out and bought the CD anyway haha. It's a shame we'll never see CD sales this high again.

They should be more exact when it comes to albums sold instead of rounding off to the nearest 1,000 lol, but regardless congrats LP!

Blech *NSYNC...I can't believe that was the second best-selling album of the decade. Disgusting. I mean really now, couldn't people have chosen a better album to buy 11 million times? I would even have been fine with American Idiot being in the #2 spot!

Tell that to the pre-teen/teen girls back then who bought that album, including myself. They were huge, the album was huge, plus friggin' Justin Timberlake was in the group. It's justified.
