I'm confused as to what he thinks balls are in music. Is west coast rap, music with balls? or is music with bone crushing riffs, music with balls? Because after listening to these zombies, in my opinion Linkin Park have slightly bigger balls. (pointless post )
Hollywood Undead's lyrics are generally really unimaginative to me - "Undead" being the most prominent example - but, musically, I dig this stuff, it's got a dope vibe. Don Gilmore was in on the debut album, if that explains some of the resemblance to early Linkin Park. Um ... I don't think Deuce is good on rock hooks; he's gotta stick with the hip-hop stuff. Ha. I really like "Undead" (despite aforementioned unimaginative lyrics) but I don't the video was appropriate. I would've preferred something more violent, and a video idea like "Undead"'s should've been saved for "No. 5" or something. "Knife Called Lust" is so old-school to me now. And "Dead In Ditches" is a definite favourite, lyrically. I wish there were a higher-quality release of that track. That's all I have to say.
Thing is, when you're playing hard rock mixed with gritty crunk style rap I really wouldn't expect imaginative lyrics lol.
I just gave the album a listen and I quite like it. Favourite tracks are Undead, This Love This Hate, City, Sell Your Soul, and Paradise Lost
