So since the show's been canceled, does that mean Hannibal Lecter won the Iron Throne? Is Hell's Kitchen safe? Will Walt's family have enough money to cover all their education and medical expenses? Stay tuned for the next Dragon Ball Z.

This new episode was the best one yet, though it only just surpasses episode 302 for me. What really helped this was was it not being so damn slow-paced as the last three. I really loved Jon Anderson's Mason Verger, and Jack's storyline was absolutely heartbreaking. What I found really interesting was how Hannibal's condolence letter, pulled from The Silence of the Lambs, felt much more sincere than it was in the book, as it was more of a taunt there. It further makes me think that Mads Mikkelsen's potrayal of Hannibal Lecter is superior to Anthony Hopkins. I love how he is definitely a villain who manipluates those around him, yet feels genuine affection for them, at least on some level. It gives a depth to the character that is really cool.

Wait, so all of this happened before the events of E02 and E03? Possibly even E01? Also, no way Will's taking that boat from Baltimore to Italy, right?

Anyway, this episode was even more beautiful, and twisted than it's regular for the show. "Now we can talk face to face." "If I had lips, I'd smile." "How many bones did you break?" Too many great quotes. The opening scene was fantastic.

Also, I didn't even notice Michael Pitt had been replaced before I read about it!

I found it extremely silly too that they want us to believe that he took a sailboat all the way to Italy. That can't be the case. And yeah, there was some twisted shit in this episode. Both Chilton being shot and Mason Verger's face are probably the 2 most gruesome things they've ever shown on the show. And like Tony, I'm really diggin' the new Alana.

I mean, this is a show where the are multiple serial killers who have the time and means to slaughter people and then reorganize their bits into very ornate and very public displays of gore. Will sailing to Italy would be far from the least believable thing to happen in Hannibal. At least someone other than Hannibal is allowed to have a skill now! (Seriously, what the fuck isn't Hannibal great at? Like if the next episode revealed that he's apparently also a fantastic shoe maker on par with the best in Italy, would you even be surprised?)

During the bathtub scene in ep 3, I thought for a moment that Hannibal would be revealed to have a background in hairdressing too

At first I was kind of iffy on Dark Alana because I feel the way she was acting went against her character but after thinking about it, I still think that but I like the new Alana anyway so the coolness factor kinda overrides that betrayal of character.

It was hinted at, though, that she would "start thinking differently", IIRC

So, in a way, it's a chemical change beyond her control and she's a different character now. That's how I see it.

^ yeah, I noticed that line but it felt like it was just there to excuse her behavior and it felt very weak. I actually rolled my eyes when I heard that because I was like "oh, so she's gonna be totally diff now"

But like I said, I'm fine with it in the end because I want to see Dark Alana kick some Hannibal ass. :p

God dammit Bryan Fuller, you're not making Hannibal being canceled hurt any less. WHAT, AN, EPISODE. And that next episode teaser was fucking great.

    OH. MY. GOD.

I fucking love this show. What an episode. That final sense almost had a comic feeling to it with the music and how the fight was made. Also, god damn they do a good job of making you think people are gonna die. First Will being thrown off the train, then Hannibal thrown out the window. Both had me for a split second like "oh shit!".

    Amazing episode.

Both Amazon Prime and Netflix have passed on picking up Hannibal for season four.

    edit —

Huh. I'd found the article on ComicBook.com but when I went back to add a link to this post, the article was gone. So...weird.

At Hannibal's Comic-Con panel, Bryan Fuller revealed that Netflix couldn't pick up Hannibal since they didn't own the streaming rights (figures), while Amazon didn't pick it up because "they wanted to do it very quickly and I wanted to be able to get all the scripts in advance before we starting shooting… the schedule with their desire to put it on immediately was just impossible for us.” Despite this, he hinted at the possibility of a feature length film, which I thought they could have done if all else fails, similar to what Futurama did with their 4 DVD movies that made up season 5.

Hah. I don't know, I really hope someone picks it up rather than a movie.

Just watched 5 and 6 tonight, finally, and, OMG, Margot's plotline from the novel is starting! I'd totally forgotten about that :phone:

I've stopped caring about what happens to Hannibal this season, a complete 180 after the first two seasons where I was very invested in his story and hoping to see him succeed.

I need Dark Alana to go darker. So, hopefully, that transformation continues.
