To be honest, and I'm not knocking on Cameron at all, but he's not doing half of what some of the people at the HBO forums have done.
To be honest, and I'm not knocking on Cameron at all, but he's not doing half of what some of the people at the HBO forums have done.
That's true. EDIT: I think the Cortana Letters and ilovebees.com are connected, other than the outstanding fact that Bungie is involved. In the temporary ILB site, there is mention of a SPDR. My friend thinks that this could be another AI. This could also be a clue to what the countdown is for. In 3 days, something will disappear; in 17 days, something will either change, or spread. What I'm thinking, is that Cortana will fade away and this new AI, SPDR, will emerge. Unfortunately, this still doesn't explain the third countdown to August 24th. MORE EDITS: August 24th was the day before Keyes and Cortana took over the Pillar of Autumn. It was mentioned in one of the Halo books. Also, the site mentioned that "Dana's" aunt had three hives. Three hives means three AIs. This is a reference to one of Bungie's older games, Marathon. The names of the three AIs are Leela, Durandal, and Tycho.
Someone came up with an interesting theory... There are spoilers here if you haven't read the books. But if you don't care, read on... All of these "mayday" messages are possibly being sent out from Dr. Halsey. She was the only person in the base that the Covenant didn't destroy when they were glassing the planet Reach, because there was a Forerunner artifact inside that they wanted to get to. The Pillar of Autumn had around 60 Spartans on board, and they were sent to Reach. Recently, Microsoft hired Nightmare Armor to re-create the MJOLNIR Mark V battle armor, and they ordered 100 pieces (suits). The person came up with the theory that they are going to be doing a Halo movie, and the first will be The Fall Of Reach. They ordered more suits than they needed, mostly because that way they'd have extra in case any broke, and for future movies. But, of course, this is all speculation.
More events that happened on August 24th: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_24 Also on the temporary ILB site, there's this person on there going by Blodia that posted a bunch of Halo related comments in one of the entries. Could possibly be another AI of some sorts, or some idiot looking for attention. EDIT: Whether it be Cortana or something else, it looks like the AI has more control than we think. http://www.cafeshops.com/ilovebees.1251839...0?zoom=yes#zoom
Yeah, sure, have you seen any other video-game-into-movies? They were horrid. The most decent I've seen was Resident Evil. EDIT: Jayfatyboombat: In 3 days, network throttling will erdoe" Bungie are currently beta testing. In 3 days, they will stop. Jayfatyboombat: In 17 days this medium will metastasize." ( metastasize- to grow, infect, spread, or replicate ) Halo 2 goes gold and they start mass producing the discs. Jayfatyboombat: Bungie, in accordance with the August 24 tradition, releases halo 2, unexpected, to the world. However, I don't think Microsoft is dumb enough to release Halo 2 in August, it's too early. November is a MASSIVE month for gaming, and Microsoft would kind of lose competition if they released Halo 2 too early. I'm guessing that August 24th, Bungie either releases a Halo 2 demo or a new game project.
"The end of the World is upon us! I wont be selling these items after Aug 24th due to the BEE's." Take note of the word bee. All capitalized, so it's an acronym. The real question is what does it stand for?
What the crap is up with Xbox Evolved? They're specualting that Captain Keyes might be behind the ilovebees thing. Haha, I don't know how they came up with that, because Keyes died in the first game.
Both Captain Keyes and Cortana are aliases for someone inside Bungie. As well as Durdana, as far as I understand.
Yeah, sure, have you seen any other video-game-into-movies? They were horrid. The most decent I've seen was Resident Evil.
Have you seen Super Mario Bros.?
Whatever happens, Halo 2 will not ship early. Bungie still has at least two months to go before they'll be completely finished with the game. They made the mistake of pushing Halo out too early (to coincide with the release of the Xbox), and they're not going to make that same mistake. November 9th is the solidified release date and it will not change unless it gets pushed back (which I doubt).
