I don't think GTA deserves half the hype it gets, but we'll save that for another thread.

    ;) [/b][/quote]
Why not? GTA was the first game to actually introduce open-gameplay and free roaming. The series has a huge influence on the new games coming out today.

I thought this was a thread for Halo 2, not comparing it to an entirely different game.

Everyone should ignore all those hyped comments about this game, because it won't ever meet your expectations for the game. Try to have low expectations. :D (w00t)

EGM scans from the latest trailer

Figured I'd post them here, since it's better for the forum.

EDIT: I guess the pistol is back, just got a few downgrades.

EDIT (2): *orgasms the biggest orgasm in the history of huge orgasms*

No matter what everyone else say, Halo 2 is going to own every game that comes out this year, and next year, and the year after that.

    Period.

    HALO 2 IS GOLD

They said it couldn't be done! Actually, they didn't say that, but if they had, we'd have proved them all (the fake people who didn't say anything) wrong! Halo 2 has gone gold. We finished every line of code, every pixel of art, every frame of animation, every phoneme of dialog and every note of music. We finished it when we said we would (when it was done) and shipped that baby right on time to make its November launch date. And we're kinda proud of it. We think it's "fun."

"Gone Gold" is a somewhat archaic expression, since the "gold discs" are actually digital tapes and eventually silver discs. But it certainly feels golden. This basically means that the game has been shipped to retail manufacture. Somewhere in the world, a gigantic DVD pressing factory has started making Xbox game discs with the utterly complete version of Halo 2. Maybe there IS a gold disc somewhere. Perhaps it's time for an epic quest!

We now have retail versions (test samples) here in the office. In fact, one sharp, and presumably jealous-eyed reader saw the following legend appear in his Live-linked MSN Instant Messenger window: "Anm8erJB is now playing HALO 2 on Xbox Live." Now THAT'S a tease.

It's been a long, hard road though. When you're playing it, and we hope you enjoy it, think of the 116 hour work weeks, the long nights, the bad food, the really long corridor to the bathroom (people use scooters to get there) and the utter lack of places to curl up and sleep.

This is a copy of the email sent out to the team to announce the final RTM.

It’s official! Halo 2 (all versions) has released to manufacturing! Hooray!

And so, to lead us into the longest 30 days of waiting in the history of shooters set in the year 2552, are a series of quotes from a sampling of the Bungie team on the process, the three years of brutal terror and horror that brought us to this point.

Tyson Green, Head Troublemaker: “Hey, there’s room on that tattoo to make it Nov. 29, right? No?”

Chris Carney, Chief Hole-Hider: "I’m a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride."

David Candland, User Interface Surgeon: "Lather, rinse, repeat."

Mat Noguchi, Evil Robot: "I hope your Xbox catches on fire."

Nathan Walpole, Svelte Lead Animator: “I hate the Scarab.”

Chris Butcher, speaking to Cuban: “Just because you’re playing on Legendary doesn’t make you a legend.”

Harold Ryan, Test Manager: "Sleep is for the dead"

Dave Dunn, Environmental Activist: "Gold?! More like fools gold!"

Luke Timmins; Supra-Timmmay: "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue."

Marty O'Donnell, Music Maestro: "Not with a bang, but a simper.”

Jaime Griesemer, Head Assassin: "Trying to catch jellybeans fired from a shotgun with your face."

Curtis Creamer: Master of Seduction, "PorkChop Sandwiches!"

    Paul Russel: "Soul-crushing disillusionment."

Domenic Koeplin, Head Wootist: “Some things are better left unsaid”.

Brian Jarrard, Community Killa: "Is it OK to play with ourselves?"

Harold Ryan, Test illegitimate offspring of unmarried parents, Quote 2: "The bullet is in the air, but we still gotta move the princess out of the way so she doesn't get killed."

Joseph Staten, Auteur-Kommissar: "Not with a bang, but a whimper. No, wait. Better make that the other way around."

Alta Hartmann, Bungie Princess: "Life is a like a box of cherries, sometimes you get the really yummy ones with the gooey caramel and other times you get the gross raspberry creme sh*t ones that taste like ass."

i do not understand why people do not consider halo as the greatest fps ever. honeslty, think about what makes up a great fps. The gameplay in halo is flawless.. the multiplayer is perfect.. the AI in campaign is top of the line.. the graphics are as good as it gets.. those are the top categories for a great fps. everything that halo was lacking, will be in halo 2. The transition from halo 1 - 2 will be as awesome as golden eye to perfect dark was for the 64. except even better.. the xbox live feature in itself is incredible and well worth the purchase.. the new weapons.. new gameplay such as the ability to hold 2 weapons at once and hijacking ghosts on the run.. being the covenant.. new maps with old classics in multiplayer.. a completely new campaign set on earth.. the list goes on and i have obviously not touched on every detail but those who have had the game reserved for 2 plus years, played endless of hours of multiplayer matches, attended lans, perfected the campaign, entered national tournaments, eat.sleep.and play halo and the rest of you who cannot wait until november 9th know what im talking about.. halo 2 will be well worth the wait.. all of us have our own expectations of what it should be.. but in the end.. it doesnt even matter.. november 9th will mark the day the greatest fps ever will be released..

I think when it comes out, someone from LPA should start a server and everyone else from LPA come in and we PWNED eachother.
