I don't have LIVE yet, but i'll be playing it tonight as a guest. Edit: Yeah, so i just beat the game in under 8 hours. I am dissapointed with the single player and i agree that the ending did suck, even if it was a set up for Halo 3.
Edit: On what difficulty did you beat it on? It's much better on legendary than even heroic.
I did it on normal first time, i'm going to do legendary next. I will probably span it out a little, mainly because it gets a little repetative if you play non-stop.
That was probably the nerdiest thing I have ever done. So, I just got back from the Halo 2 Party last night, and I have to say that I'm quite impressed with it. It definately takes a little while to get used to the new controls, the lack of a health bar and what not, but dang, that was fun. The addition of Blood Gulch and Battle Creek from Halo 1 was most welcome, in my books.
Halo 2 is one of the best games that I've ever played in my entire life. (And that's a lot of games.) I'm going to do a full review and post it on my web site, and then post it here. Spoilers: I hate the fact that you have to play as an Elite. If they wanted to go down that road, they should've released two separate versions of the game with completely different campaign levels – i.e. Halo 2: SPARTAN Version, Halo 2: Elite Version. I just didn't like that at all. It threw off my rhythm a lot and took me out of the POV of my favorite video game character ever. And the fact that the ending leaves so much open. The game really asks more questions than it answers. (In fact, I don't believe it answers any questions at all.) You never find out if the Chief saves Earth. You never find out if Cortana keeps Delta Halo from being activated. You never find out what happened to Dr Halsey or any of the other SPARTANs from Halo: First Strike. Such a cliffhanger of a game. My favorite part, though, was finding out who Miranda was. I don't know who of you has seen the "Making Of" video, but one of the employees (Joe Staten?) talks about a Miranda strapping a bomb to the Master Chief and shoving him down a hole. For a year and a half people speculated who Miranda was and we found out within the first five minutes of the game that she is Captain Keyes's daughter. As you can tell, I'm more into Halo for the storyline. So, yeah, review coming soon.
He finally returns With such a short SP game, and having played it myself [only 2 hours of sp at a friends house], it didnt seem like THE BEST, maybe for x-box yes, but if you love story and have an older PC, try Deus Ex, amazing game, the sequil sucks, but the original is just incredible. Halo 2 Mp, well, untill i get my hands on CS:S, i will say it has the best MP, for now
I'm not a fan of the LIVE matchmaking system at all for Halo 2, it is impossible to meet new people and become friends with them. I personally like to play game to game and through this meet new players and if i want, make friends with them. Whereas with Halo 2, it slings you into an unknown game inwhich it could be any possible game type and then when it ends it takes you back to the menu, and chances are you'll probably never the see the players you played with again.
If you go to your Friends list after a match, you can see a list of people you played with. You can send them messages after that and whatnot. I like that a lot. Met some cool people.

Ahh, i suppose that is something. It's still a shame you can't play game to game though with the exact same people.

Are you gonna make a lpa clan?
That would be a good idea, but you can only be a part of one clan i think. So it all depends on who wants to be in the clan over any other. You can leave and join clans at anytime, but can only be a part of one at a time.
