LPU.com has made a news post giving a little more detail about LPUX. The highlight is that they say the LPUX CD will have 10 songs and it's "What the fans have been waiting for"

I declare those pics to be stupid. I was fine with pics of the band as long as they look like they're near a testing site. These are too random/unoriginal to me. I guess if you wanted a high quality/zoomed up pic of each member, you got your wish...

Well deserved - I still have no idea why The Catalyst is toping rock charts though.

 

Linkin Park fans amaze me sometimes, man. Not just the people that join the fansites like this. I finally heard the song on my local radio station. What's awesome is right before playing it, the DJ goes "So I've been getting a lot of emails lately saying Thanks for not being an asshole about the new Linkin Park song." And I can understand where some might not like it because its different. I personally do, it's got this orchestral church choir / rave thing going on." Proves to me that the world still loves their LP.

 

It's simple to me.

A LOT of Linkin Park fans want Hybrid Theory again and this isn't. Thus they don't purchase it.

The rest of the world doesn't like Linkin Park because of Hybrid Theory (they don't like rapping/screaming). Hence, the rest of the world doesn't give the song a chance because it's by Linkin Park. They think it will sound like Nu Metal.

Another factor may be that the itunes clip plays THE WORST part of the song. They really should have used the "Lift me up" part as the 30 second clip.

 

Um, I think you've misunderstood.

It got #1 on the Rock Chart while it isn't a Rock song.

Hawk wants to know WHY it's getting a high play rate on Rock Stations

It's like a Country song getting a high rating Hip-Hop Charts

but I can understand why it's getting high Rock Chart play it's because technically The Catalyst can't really fit into just one category and it has all sorts of elements, Electronic, Synth, a nice Rock Guitar, some nice strings, it's all over the place in a good way and thus can fit into a lot of categories including rock and pop, meaning if people like it who listen to rock a lot then it's understandable that'll it'll get play on the Rock Charts.

Just my two cents.
