I have visited this site since the 2002, or 2003 dont remember when this was made but i check this site almost everyday

Yes, this site is about a band we love, but you need to realize the staff members don't revolve their lives around Linkin Park 24/7.

You can give me your opinions, but you were rude in your original post when you said that we must not care about the site anymore. How did you think one of us was going to react to that? So of course I was going to be defensive towards that comment because it's absolutely not true.

The whole "important" comment is just crazy. Don't go there, please. You don't know me at all to even say such a thing. Importance isn't a factor.

PM me if you want to hash this out more. I'm done arguing in this thread.

Not newsworthy but I've ran across it on LP forums. Here is an interview dated 18.07.2009 with Chester, and here's a very confusing snippet (translated by someone from their forums):


Reporter: Let's talk a bit about the new albums that are coming out, and starting specifically with the one of Linkin Park. Mike stated that a new word will be needed to describe the music of the new album.

Bennington: He said that?

Reporter: Yeah he did. What exactly is the new thing that is happening? Are there new elements we haven't heard in your album before? Something new with the way you work on the music composing and/or music production?

Bennington: From what I understand from the work in the studio, the first thing that stands out is "programming", meaning electronic sounds that are ingeniously placed/recorded, while the melodies are very "poppy" and stick to your mind. Regarding the lyrics we haven't really progressed, so I wouldn't be able to tell you what's the album's theme. However, to give it to you in a gist, we've taken the alternative rock elements of "Minutes to Midnight" and we've used some really smart programming and electronic beats. Least not forget, there are also moments that bring to mind "Hybrid Theory".


This is messed up. Definetely doesn't seem like Mike and Chester are talking about the same album. First we hear that the album is very substantial and opposed to pop junk food music (Mike), that it's not mainstream and commercial like New Divide (band), that it's so different than all previous albums (Mike)... and now Chester talks like the melodies are poppy and that it's (from the sounds of it) MtM with electronic beats (New Divide).

 

Is it just me or does Chester use the word poppy when describing every Linkin Park album? Someone needs to buy that man a thesaurus.

But yeah, this sucks. I thought it would be antipop. Plus, Chester seemed surprised that Mike said that they would need a new word for this album. Maybe it's just Mike who exaggerates every time.

 

They've always had poppy hooks and melodies in their music, and I don't think Mike was referring to all pop music with that allegory. It's also a translation, and even presuming it's a really accurate one Chester doesn't seem to know much of what's been going on in the studio which can be attributed to a lot of things. It gives me the impression that Chester hasn't been doing as much work with the band as of late. Finally, there are other recent interviews with Chester himself where he's said different things.
