Aw...comforting hug to Chrysalis..so, who now, huh? Yeah Brazil has great induvidual talent but Zizou helped Les Bleus perform more as a team. And I'm not THAT elated Brazil lost. It just gets annoying when everyone you talk to says, "BRAZIL?? NOBODY can defeat Brazil!!!Man they're gods!! You can't even defeat them in your dreams!!!"
Believe, I know a LOT of people who think this way.

I quite liked todays headlines: A bolt from the Blues

France have played so well since I criticised them. I must have great motivational skills.

In all honesty I think this years world cup has been complete shit (apart from some of the goals which have been world class). Teams have been plagued by unfit players, play has been slow and stale because of the heat, the referees were utterly shit, teams have put no spirit into winning and it's been dirty with bad sportsmanship and diving galore.

No one would ever have expected France to go on to the semi-finals or even Italy or Portugal for that matter...that's how weird this world cup has been.

I expected Italy to be in the final with Brazil, provided that Toni was on form. But he didn't even score until the quarter finals.

@Hellflame- Hear, hear. Group stages, apart from the Group C ones (But look what happened to all of them?), have been boring, with all the european nations taing their sweet time to peak, and either the competition has been so neck to neck that everything good/bad get's cancelled off, or one team get's flat steamrolled. No REAL exciting tough competition. And yeah, Dean's right, if someone told me that Italy, Portugal and France would be semifinalists ahead of Brazil, Argentina, Oranje, etc, I'd be quite shocked. Brazil has also disappointed with no team work from BRILLIANT induviduals, Arg have had a good group stage, and France matches have only improved in the last 2 games. Now the only possible clash that will be good to watch is Italy/Germany, because somehow I don't really fancy Portugal/ France. What a wierd first proper world cup vewing for me.

I didn't really expect Germany to get this far either to be honest. I mean they're pretty good but there were plenty of teams who were better on paper.

Brazil loss, big shocker there. But I guess I'm pretty happy France got into the semi's. I mean they've got Zidane. I predict Germany will be against France in the finals.

Yeah, I'm afraid that they'll have to play against each other in the end. In my opinion Germany is kinda strong, but so is France. But Germany always have luck at the end of the game it seems. <.<
    I reallllly hope France wins.

arghhhh!!!!!! HOW THE HELL DID FRANCE BEAT SPAIN ....and why does Henry have act so much?? * gives Henry the oscar for his Tom Hanks like performance against Spain * ...Zizu at 36 is still soo awesome * bows down to him *, but other than that i just want France to be gutted by Portugal. However, Italy has a great chance though!!!!. Their defense is like....umm...The Great Wall of China and Germany will have 2 come up with sth special to break them down..

Hargreaves played amazing in the game against Portugal. He was probably your best player on the field. Lennon played well too. Hargreaves was sprinting back to get back into play, beating defenders to the outside, creating scoring chances, causing giveaways (like his takeaway on Ronaldo just outside the box towards the end of regular time). Remember, he was the only guy who scored for you in penalties as well.

I don't know why, but the English press just loves to get on Hargreaves' case. Perhaps it's because he isn't fully English, and Canadians can't play soccer. I've been watching the England games and have seen him make a few mistakes, but his positive moves far outweigh the negatives. He did nothing that caused any losses, and he was one of the main reasons England played so well with only 10 men.

The England/Portugal game came down to a few things; terrible refereeing (missed hand ball, Lennon being taken down inside the box, ref succumbing to Ronaldo's constant diving tactics and giving fouls), an inability on Lampard's part to finish, Rooney's fanned shot after Lennon beat two defenders and got into the box, and terrible predictable penalties.

Ronaldo is just a disgrace to soccer. I can't stand him.

The coach of England didn't seem too involved either. He just sat on the bench and watched with his arms crossed.

I'm going for Germany from here in.

    AMEN
I'm so SICK of goddamn girls who like Ronaldo for his looks. WHY am I a girl? Seriously, these people disgrace my gender. TWO of my close friends like him! TWO! He's SHIT! C'mon! Not only is he selfish, he...dives! And dives! Man, he is obnoxious too. Seeing his face makes my hand itch to slap that smug expression. And I give them a long sermon of his unfair and FLASHY play, and what do I get from BOTH (who dont even know eachother)- "Oh, shut up Meghna, he's so hot(cuteattimes) don't say anything about him!

If I find that woman, I'll...............

I don't know but Brazil weren't playing up to their usual standards that day. Zidanes the best. Hehe. I hope france wins. I mean Zidane just came out of retirement for this world cup, at least make it worth while.

France will win. France WILL win.

It's a shame England got knocked out to the cheap, pathetic little cretins that make the Portugese side. When Ronaldo goes back to Old Trafford, he's going to get the utter shit kicked out of him. Players and fans alike.

Lennon can run. I was amazed. He's going to be the focus of attention for sometime in the future.

As for Rooney's sending off - I feel that was unjustified. Of course he stood on some blokes balls, but that's only because his legs were wrestling him to the floor. Pathetic. Just pathetic.
