It's a few days late but I'm pretty certain that if Carew didn't keep drifting out wide against CSKA we would have beaten them.

I don't know why Shorey was dropped against Chelsea either. I know I criticised him only a few posts ago but he had a very good game against CSKA and the team looked a lot more balanced for it. He definitely didn't do any worse than Cuellar has done at right back. I saw the loss coming anyway, it being against a team with a new manager (Guus Hiddink at that).

 

Cuellar is pretty alright IMO hes just having trouble settling in

 

I just dont see the point continuing to play him out of position when Shorey did well against CSKA.

yeah same here even though it just shows more of the bad side of Leeds United and as though there isnt already enough of that

 

Plus most of the people who are characters (or their family in Clough's case)seem to have some sort of dislike for it

so it's pretty likely we'll get knocked out of the UEFA cup now. I'm not complaining really though, although I was still pretty confident we could get a result if there weren't too many senior players omitted. Seeing Bannan finally get a start would be nice.

It's so hard to believe that Buffon is still only 31. He's been around for forever.

i was pretty sure Roma could've nipped something though but they failed miserably...stupid romans

 

considering keepers have a much longer career span than any other position, it wouldnt be suprising to see him playing for a good number of years yet. I think Neville Southall played until he was like 42, i know hes not in the same class as Buffon but that gives Buffon at least another decade between the sticks

Then again, it was Roma they were playing against. It could've gone way better.

Well, I wouldn't know that, I haven't been watching any of their games lately. But I suppose you're right, Arsenal isn't doing all too great at the moment.
