i was wondering how Toulouse managed to fluff it up that badly against Schirrein...who are Schirrein anyway?
It's a 7th division team from the East of France (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schirrhein). They defeated a L2 team 4 - 2 in the 32nd finals by scoring four goals in the 20 last minutes but Toulouse was way too strong. Edit: 8th finals of the French Cup: CS Sedan (L2) - Vitré (CFA) Dijon FCO (L2) - Grenoble Foot 38 (L1) EA Guingamp (L2) - Le Mans UC 72 (L1) AC Ajaccio (L2) - AS Monaco (L1) LOSC (L1) - Lyon (L1) Rodez (N) - Paris SG (L1) Stade Rennais (L1) - FC Lorient (L1) US Boulogne CO (L2) - Toulouse FC (L1)
Frank Lampard is very English but John Terry is so English that if he'd been alive in the 40's the Germans would have tried to bomb him personally.
0-2 at half time. 2-2 by full time that's how we roll at Victoria Park.. we totally didn't deserve to be two nil behind.. grrr
Indeed they have. It's frightening how powerful Man Utd look at the moment. They've completed that record with a largely makeshift defence.
they have a solid team since that tiny transaction period when they offloaded Van Horseface so i guess they kinda deserve it unlike Liverpool who are far to erratic to be considered League Leader material

you knwo what would be highly amusign this season? the title goes down to the wire on matchday 38 and the leaders fuck up with Villa claiming first
I think this is quite funny when you think about it.. we have the worst home defensive record in League One BUT the best attacking home record in League One as well and we only have Goal Difference of -3! its all those damn 3-3 draws at the start of the season.. its entertaining.. but i'd rather have the points to be honest
Nope, like 2000 against Galatasaray we'll slaughter them but lose to a penalty shootout and I'll be glad because I'd rather win nothing than win the uefa cup lol.
winning the UEFA cup could be your ticket into the Champions League sooo...and plus it still is a trophy and a European one at that
We won't win the title and I don't want us to for a few more years at least. Villa haven't been that successful for most of my lifetime and it'll just feel really weird having to have much higher standards to judge our results by. I was going to try getting tickets for both legs of our UEFA cup game but Moscow in Winter? Just no.
I really don't care...for the past 11 years we havn't failed to qualify for the champions league and this season we have a real chance of missing out...a club our size shouldn't be in the uefa cup simple as. It's ridiculous when people within the club like Wenger and Hill-Wood start telling the fans that the club is progressing well when we've done a complete u-turn on the season we had last year. What was the point of building a new stadium if we're not gonna use the funds it generates to buy better players? On a lighter note did anyone see Gillette Soccer Saturday today? Paul Merson's reaction to Julien Faubert going on loan to Real Madrid was fucking awesome: "...his agent should be knighted by the queen".
Lyon 2 - 2 Lille Marseille 2 - 2 Lille Bordeaux 2 - 2 Lille Rennes 2 - 1 Lille Lille 1 - 0 Rennes It'd be a shame if we don't win the return games.
