Have a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficients It has the co-efficients for the Euro's aswell as Champions League.
i believe in 5 or so years, we may actually see the Australian A League and the Japanese League up there, they're getting rave reviews in Asia
Nah, I don't reckon. The A-League is light-years behind. It's League One standard at best. Little creativity, everyone resorts to hoofing. It's shite to watch if you come from a European football background. Plus, it's a UEFA List. Not a AFC one.
Why the fuck have we been so fucking shit recently????? Can't even fucking beat Birmingham for fuck sake.
i think Wenger needs to spend a tad in the transfer window, because everyone's looking jaded at the moment
Valenciennes 2 - 0 Saint Etienne Bordeaux 4 - 1 Auxerre Caen 0 - 0 Nancy Le Mans 0 - 2 Sochaux Lille 1 - 1 Metz Lyon 3 - 2 Toulouse Monaco 1 - 0 Lorient Strasbourg 0 - 1 Nice Paris SG 3 - 0 Lens Rennes 3 - 1 Marseille Wtf?! Paris won 3-0 from Lens. Lens already had hard times but this is real bad.
The impact of playing every game can take its toll. Although it may be a bit early for that to happen. We had a starting XI that essentially always played last season, and you seem to have that this time around. We lasted till April last season until the wheels fell off. We dug deep against Everton and Milan at home, but it wasn't enough in the end to win everything. Perhaps your just in bad form? It's bound to happen over an entire season.
yeah you cant expect to play at obscenely high level of football for the entire season, sometimes a two week break isnt enough
So Keegan's back at Newcastle. He could do about as well as anyone there I suppose considering the club's current state.
Keegan's arrival is being blown out of proportion. Everyone thinks Newcastle are gonna start playing brilliant, attractive football right away but I'm almost positive they wont. Souness, Roeder and Allardyce screwed the team up quite a bit so it's gonna take time before they can even start to think about pushing for a top 6 place again. They're not gonna get 2nd place again though, that's for sure.
I don't know if those three screwed the team up by themselves... granted, they didn't do the best of jobs (Come to think of it Roeder probably didn't do too badly given the situation) but I think Robson being sacked pretty much put the club in a pretty bad place. I don't know if Allardyce can really do a job in only six months or whatever either, but Souness is probably one of the worst managers I can think of.
Okay maybe Roeder did decently considering the circumstances but if the new chairman wanted exciting and attractive football then hiring Allardyce was idiocy redefined. I mean what manager spends £6.3m on Jose Enrique, an established left-back with a positive reputation in his homeland of Spain, but plays an attacking left winger at left-back? Allardyce's football philosophies in general are terrible. Long ball play and consistant 4-5-1 negative formations. Can you imagine if he became England manager? There's a good chance we might have seen even worse football than the team is producing at the present. One can only hope Capello injects the remedy into the team. But back to Keegan; he's gonna be under pressure more than any other Newcastle manager since himself because the fans and the media expect him to turn the team around and do well. Good luck to him but I'm not expecting any miracles.
What I mean is, regardless of the way his teams play, Allardyce seems to have to build a team over time anyway and that is also something Newcastle have to do no matter who the manager is. I don't really like the way his teams play either but if he had more of a chance I think he could be successful at a team bigger than Bolton. I think Keegan would be able to get the team back on its feet, but I don't know about taking them forward much. So we probably agree there.
i was at the Newcastle match last night, and it was awesome! granted it was only against Skote, but Newcastle played some decent stuff. good job lads i might even put a sneaky bet on the Toon beating th Gunners in the next round ..i must be mad.. but ou never know!! Emre is going to be a major loss though :/
Allardyce came in and instantly put Newcastle in the same 4-3-3 he had Bolton in for the past few seasons. I reckon he could have made it work in time, after he bought in players to fit the system. But for fecks sake he was playing Martins wide left, Viduka central and Smith wide right. I could've told you that was destined to fail. I'm pleased to see Keegan back though, if there is more of this:
ooww yes, Ajax out of the cup we had luck to have an amateur club this round, next round vs fcZwolle (1st divison) so that wont be a problem either
