now thats being harsh...i believe its just performances that are below par but these players are all highly skilled but as a team their shit
They're not good enough for Liverpool in any case. No League winning team is going to be flanked by Pennant and Benyayoun and fronted by Kuyt and Voronin.
I don't think Kuyt is shit at all. Fair enough he's not exactly a goal machine striker but look how much he works on the field to set up goals and hold up play. One thing I'll agree with though is that Liverpool will never win the Premiership with the squad they have now. Of course now that I say that they'll probably go on to win it lol.
I have to disagree strongly there Lucas. He holds up Liverpool's play yes, by having a shite first touch. Kuyt is perhaps the worst player in the supposed "big four". Whenever I see him play, he's pathetic. The gulf in skill between him and the likes of Van Persie, Rooney and Drogba, is laughable. He was one of our best players when we went to Anfield. A 12th Man if you will. I knew we could count on Dirk to spoon it into the path of Rio or Vidic whenever a good Liverpool move was threatening.
I wonder what exactly Newcastle hope to achieve this season. You could say that about Derby actually.
Sorry to say it but Johan Djourou needs to go back to Birmingham...Perminantly. He made Senderos look like Cannavaro this evening.
They slaughtered us and probably should have won. I just hope we field a better team in the second leg. We WILL NOT beat Spurs at White Hart Lane with the same squad we played this evening.
yeah how do you think Arsenal havent been beaten by them im 17years? @Luke: i think its too early to tell how badly Djourou did exactly, it has only been one match...however based on yesterdays peformance i would have to say only Armand Traore has defended worse
Lyon wants to sell Fred to Paris because he will be so expensive that they won't be able to buy anyone else. And Aulas (president of Lyon) says it's for the best of the french soccer Paris is and always will be a worthless team.
Well yeah they've always been in L1 (ligue 1) so it would be weird to have them got to L2 but even with all the money they had some years they never did a good season. And they're lucky Pauleta doesn't want to leave the club because that would mean the end of them.
the whole French league is pretty inconsistent with Lyon as the only exception to be honest, i would favour Auxerre and Marseille but look where they are now
The French league is bollocks. Lyon are the only team who've won the title in the past, what, 6 years? And that doesn't seem like changing anytime soon. Fair enough they're a good team, but they seem to be the only team in the French league with any quality. The Portuguese and Dutch leagues are much the same but even with those leagues there's a top 3 set of teams pushing for the title. Although then again, all French first division teams seem to have atleast some good players whereas you hardly ever hear about players from lower league Portuguese or Dutch teams. Here's my ranking of European leagues: 1. Premiership (ENG) 2. La Liga (SPA) 3. Serie A (ITA) 4. Bundesliga (GER) 5. Orange Ligue 1(FRA) 6. Divisao 1 (POR) 7. Eredevisie (HOL) 8. SPL (SCO) 9. Russian First Division (RUS) 10. Ukrainian First Division (UKR)
This is how Uefa ranks them. Pretty interesting, although the German League being below French is a travesty. The likes of Shalke and Werder Bremen would take teams like Marseille and Bordeaux to the cleaners. I'm pretty sure Bayern would have one over Lyon too. 1. Spain 2. England 3. Italy 4. France 5. Germany 6. Portugal 7. Romania 8. Netherlands 9. Russia 10. Scotland
