Gallas is spot on in my opinion. The teams around us are spending like crazy whereas we're being fairly quiet. Eduardo is a good player with alot of good qualities, he's a Reyes type player in that he's quick and can play both on the left wing and up front. However with that being said, Eduardo has only played in the Croatian league which is needless to say a much lower quality league than the premier league.

Gallas is dead on when he says our spending has shown a lack of ambition. It's all well and good developing youngsters however when teams around you are spending various amounts of money on good established players then it's vital you do the same thing. If we had done this it would have been us signing Torres and us signing Babel before anyone else could get to them. They're two players who could make an impact at the club and two players who would ease the pain of losing probably the greatest player ever to wear an Arsenal shirt. Unfortunatly Liverpool beat us to Torres and will probably beat us to Babel aswell.

The thing is that the past 3 seasons have been majorly unsuccessful for Arsenal. Yes we won the FA cup in 05 and got into the champions league final but you can't have the taste of dominance and success and not want more. By buying some players we could mount a serious title challenge and finally get our hands on the Champions league aswell as give the fans some positives. We're not far off from a truly great squad of players however right now I fear for my team.

It frightens me greatly to know that Tottenham have spent this season and on players who will do well for them. They also have alot of great youth players who are only getting better. Rest assured though, the fans would not stand for being 2nd best in North London.

However Wenger seems to know what he's doing and he could surprise us all this season. One can only hope though because I think another season without a trophy would mean disaster.

Anthony Le Tallec (from Liverpool) might be joining Hartlepool United on loan, this deal is only a rumour at this moment in time. But we shall see in the next couple of days if there is any truth behind this, as the players at Hartlepool United have already started pre-season training, the manager Danny Wilson has stated he wants his full squad together before they start playing 'friendlys'

Well we signed Sagna today and will probably bid for Martins soon but why the hell did we allow Liverpool to sign Babel instead of us? For fuck sake...

Babel's scoring record is atrocious at Ajax, is he a striker or a winger?

I reckon Le Arse should go for Huntelaar from Ajax.

Phenomenal scoring record and would feed on the scraps created by Rosicky, Fabregas and Hleb after they dick around with the ball outside the box for 5 minutes.

He's wouldn't contribute to the team as much as Henry but could score just as many. Which is what Arsenal need.

Huntelaar would have had a field day in the game against West Ham at the Emirates. Would have been 18-1 by full time.

Are you kidding me? Babel is probably one of the brightest prospects in football today. Considering he's only 20 and people have been branding him the next Henry he must be doing something right.

And he's a left winger actually but he can play up front as well.

And yes I agree that we need someone whos actually gonna shoot. I don't think it should be Huntelaar though, not yet. I'd say any move for him should come next year, then he'll have enough footballing experience to leave Ajax and step up his career. I don't think he's quite ready to move just yet.

Perhaps not Huntelaar. I was just thinking goal-poachers.

Michael Owen could do well for you. Questionable fitness however.

Do you rate Adebayor Hellflame? He looks a decent player but seems to lack composure in front of goal.

Mind you, I think I remember Rio stating he was the toughest striker he had to defend against in the Premiership last season.

i dont Wenger would want to gamble on Owen to be honest...if i had to pick someone i'd look at David Villa but i dont think he'll be going anywhere....Huntelaar would do well IMO with Wenger to guide him, he'll undoubtedly be deadly...btw what abt the new GK?

Yes, a poacher is exactly what we need. Someone who has a high work effort and will stay in the box. The thing is that Wengers system has never had a poacher, he's always gone for the more technical and passing strikers than the ones who will just blast the ball into the net from wherever. This is exactly why Wenger should have braught Trezeguet to Arsenal because as well as having great technical and passing skills he also has a killer instinct for goals.

Adebeyor is one of those Bergkamp type players in that he's more of a support striker than an out-and-out striker. When he first joined us back in January 06 he had a big reputation back in France and was even part of the Monaco squad who made it to the 2004 Champions League Final. Everyone was saying he was gonna be the next best striker but so far he's failed to live up to all expectations of him.

If you look at him he's the perfect specimin for a striker; he's around 6'2, has great pace and good technique but he has rarely ever put in a solid performance for us. I have a feeling though that now that Thierry is gone he'll step up his game but if I'm honest, I'm expecting Robin Van Persie to be the player to watch out for next season. Eduardo aswell. It should be interesting to see Bendtner playing in the first team too, there's some real potential in him to be a future great.

If I were to choose a poacher though, my choice would either be Owen or Eto'o. I'd probably want Eto'o slightly more because Owen would be a complete gamble when it comes to his fitness. Eto'o on the other hand would be a solid goal machine for any team in the world. It's a good point that Wenger could probably mold Huntelaar into a world-class striker however there's also the factor on whether Huntelaar is an Arsenal type player. Wenger is extraordinarily select when it comes to signing players.

And about the goalkeeper Fabianski. I don't know too much about him but I'm guessing he'll be Lehmanns successor. Almunia will never get the number one shirt I don't think because of his inconsistancy. Fabianski is highly rated in his homeland of Poland though and is being tipped for success over here.

I have the feeling he is really hyped up in the UK, here he is just a normal player who isnt even a regular line-up both ajax and the dutch team

idk, I have a feeling he will fail badly in the UK, but that can also just be me

Huntelaar will be good for arsenal, he is young though and has a lot to learn, plus ajax will ask an tremendous amount of money for him (if they even want to sell him)

Brazil looked woeful for almost the entire tournament while Argentina set it alight.

Dunga's tactics worked perfectly. The Argies midfield was given no space while Riquelme and Veron both went missing in action.

Heinze is definately leaving now and after his recent displays, I hope we can get at least 6 million for him.

    Long live Evra.

Apparently we're making a club record bid of 15mil for Rodrigo Palacio. That would definatly be a great signing.

Seems alot for a 25 year old still playing in Argentina.

Never seen him play mind. Didn't you pay 17 million for Reyes, or was what apperance based?

Yeah I know what you're saying about him not having any European experience but then again niether did Gilberto or Edu when we signed them and they were both successful here. Wenger would only sign him if he was confident he would adapt well in England. If it turns out to be true then it would certainly show some ambition considering clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter have been chasing him.

As far as I know, Reyes' transfer was £12.5m which could rise to £17.5m based on appearances and international call-ups. I'm not too sure about that though.

    What bastards.

On Sky Sports News at around 11pm last night there was a breaking news flash saying we signed Palacio for 15million but I noticed something dodgey when it was taken away 2 minutes later.

    Fuck it.
