My Grandmother could have scored that goal, so could my 6 month old cousin. I'd give the credit to Defoe.
Hmmm, todays performance was nothing short of terrible. That was our heaviest defeat in 6 years aswell. I'm really starting to get worried because the whole idea of developing youngsters is so that they get better every season but it just seems as if we're getting worse...I know injuries and the world cup really have fucked up our season but nevertheless 2 wins in 7 isn't something you expect from a club like Arsenal. The tactics were very strange today aswell; why on earth Wenger decided to play Vassariki Abou Diaby, who is a right footed defensive/central midfielder, on the left wing is quite beyond me. Wenger really does need to think hard in the summer about which areas need improving in the squad because right now we really are in shambles. I don't remember a period when we've played so badly.
Thats the whole problem though, he sticks CM's like Rosicky and Diaby out on the wing with Fabregas and Denilson in the middle. It's a system with no width what so ever. When the short intricate passing isn't working there is no one who can take the ball directly towards goal (Ronaldo, Robben, etc), and Arsenal just combust. I'm not trying to rub anything in, but when you're playing like shit, you can't rely on say Rosicky or Hleb take it upon themself to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O15KaElIYqs They are central midfielders and hence want to pass it to create a goal, not take it upon themselves to run and score it. Same thing would happen if you stuck Scholes or Carrick on the right and left. I really have no idea, this is just my theory. Do you think you would benefit from signing a winger or two to make Arsenal more flexible tacticly?
I think we do have width and both Rosicky and Hleb can play great on the wings but I do indeed think we need to buy a winger for the left who has a left foot. Hleb is fine on the right I think, it's just that Rosicky has to constantly switch onto his right foot to make crosses. If we were to sign Franck Ribery the wing problems would be resolved instantly because he can play with both feet on either wing. The thing I'm completly against though is putting right footed centre-mids like Diaby and Denilson on the wing. They're both defensive/creative centre-mids with right feet and not a great deal of pace and they're playing on the left hand side... I've said it before, if we want to win fuck all next season we need to spend money in the summer. Wenger can't keep on being so naive. I wanna see another bargain transfer like when we got Ljungberg for 450k, Nicolas Anelka for 500k, Pires for £6m, Rosicky for £6.8m, Denilson for £3m, Fabregas for 350k, Henry for 10.75m etc.
I don't see how a point could make too much difference. Dean don't worry, you won't be relegated. Hell when it comes to it I expect your team to be atleast 8 points clear of the bottom three.
Losing at home would have destroyed what confidence we had, and if we didn't get relegated as a result we wouldn't have survived by much. What I don't get is how Moore can't get a game despite us barely being able to score at home and not being able to score away, and how Davis and Osbourne can't get back into the team when Petrov and McCann have been so poor recently.
Sheffield United and Wigan will probably end up going down. Still hoping City can combust and make the drop too.
Sevilla look pretty impressive, when they're attacking anyway. The defending in this match isn't great to say the least.
wow i just realised how everyone in the bottom half of the table for the EPL and the CCC are still open for relegation...
And wenger says we don't need a fucking striker. Fuck this shit, this is fucking unbelievable. Thats 3 straight premiership defeats, that hasn't happened to us since '94. I swear to god I'm gonna knock out any west ham fan who even thinks about bragging. 27 fucking shots, 16 on target, 3 post/crossbar hits. Fuck off. This is a fucking joke. What the hell is wrong with us for fuck sake? You can't just sulk like little bitches because you've got nothing to play for, there are still games that need to be won. Where's the fucking determination, it's like the players spirits have been broken completly. Maybe someone besides wenger needs to motivate them because 2 wins in 11 games is unacceptable.
wow today has an interesting turn of results...Man U lost which is a good thing but surprisingly enough Arsenal lost...ah well at least Leeds won and are gonna looking likely to survive
