At least Ashley Cole went to a team that are more or less as good as his old one.

Yep but one thing they both have in common is that they abandonned their clubs whos fans loved them so they could earn an even more ridiculous amount of money than they were already earning.

Did anyone watch England/Israel? What a fecking shite game. England are dire, and has Lampard ever performed on the international stage? Drop him for Gerrard, at least he was trying.

    --------------Robinson---------------
    --G.Nev---Terry----Rio---Cashley--
    --Lennon--Gerrard--Hargreaves--Downing
    -----------Rooney---Owen-------------

That is how they need to line up IMO with everyone fit, Lampard and Gerrard just doesn't work. Downing is pretty average but who else would play on the left side and give the team the same balance?

i dont believe Owen and Rooney can play up front together...the pairing looks sharp skill wise, but Rooney and Owen dont have the same physical presence of Shearer, Sheringham or even Heskey...i think they need a large forward, and Crouch does not count simply because he's too shaky...

In my opinion the only player that doesn't fit in with the system is Wayne Rooney. Half the time he doesn't know himself whether he's a striker or a support striker. The thing is that no manager whether it be Stevie Mac or the next guy would ever dare drop Rooney because the English press would eat them alive.

    My England lineup would be:

    ----------------James------------------

    G.Neville---Terry---Ferdinand---Fucktard (cole)

    Lennon-----Gerrard-----Carrick------Downing

    ----------Rooney-------------------------
    ---------------Owen-----------------------

England rarely produce a good exciting performance with the exception of a few games e.g. vs. Argentina 2005 and Germany 5-1.

Yep, when he got us to the last WC and Euro 2004 almost single-handedly. It's true that he's been crap for us since though.

Bridge and Barry are better defenders than Cole, Barry is better than Downing and if Nugent can get called up so can McSheffrey. Heck I'd even play Julian Gray, that's how poor Downing is for England.

Rooney would perform better with decent service. Rio and terry were lumping balls up front, and when the midfield had the ball, they put chips into the box. Rooney didn't get a killer ball played to him all night.

If England tried to be patient and play to feet, they might do better.

I believe that England havent had a good natrual left winger for quite a bit. Closest thing they had was Barmby or Sinclair when they played on the left wing, they were not the best definetly but they seemed ti fit in better...the way things are looking now, i would try Dyer or Wright-Phillips on the left wing hell even Pennant...

I'd still say Barry or McSheffrey, and that's not local bias. Dyer should play more often as well when fit but not necessarily on the left.

You could say the same thing for Tomas Rosicky when he plays for us though. The fact is that in order for a team to have a good balance, you do need left footed players.

    Still a very lacklustre performance.

On a side note, Northern Ireland have caused yet another upset beating Sweden 2-1 and my teams future world class striker Nicklas Bendtner scored the winning goal for Denmark against Germany.

Jonny Evans is gonna be a star. Northern Ireland haven't lost since he came in. Him, Pique and Rossi are the three youngsters I really hope can step up into the first team squad.
