As good a player as Viera was for Arsenal I hated how he seemed to do that quite a bit and still have a reputation as a hard man. Oh, and Carew's just signed for Villa but I'm not sure if Young has yet.
The thing is that Vieira might act like he just got stabbed in his head or something but I WOULD NOT like to stand up to him The thing is that everyone's really quick to say our foreign players dive and are over dramatic but look at Wayne Rooney, the nations savior. He dives left, right and centre...his antics cost us our unbeaten run. He did it yesterday aswell, yes Eboue acted like someone just wacked him round the head with a hammer but Rooney did it aswell. Oh and Dean you're new striker has earned Aston Villa a place in the list of Hellflame's list of hated teams and players. Fucking Carew...put us out of the champions league twice...bastard.
this winds me up - and i think all footballers a guilty of it at some point or another now-a-days. they dive for fun. making out that a little slap or a 'harsh' challenge is the worst thing they have ever come arcoss. i dont think they realise they just look idiotic when they do it. especially with 500 cameras around any given stadium at any given time, with slow motion and all that. just look at rugby players. they get knocked out, lose teeth, get trampled all over but you dont see them rolling around looking like a fairy at the slightest knock. back on the topic of football. hell, look at goalkeepers, they get alot worse treatment but do you see them whinge? granted they do from time to time but thats only because they have every right to. personally i think footballers need to get some balls and grow up a bit because diving is childish. its gradually giving football, once a mans game a bad reputation. Agreed. This is our squad for tonights game with the scum: 2. Abou Diaby 4. Francesc Fabregas 5. Kolo Toure 6. Philippe Senderos 9. Julio Baptista 13. Alexander Hleb 15. Denilson 16. Mathieu Flamini 21. Mart Poom 24. Manuel Almunia 27. Emmanuel Eboue 30. Jeremie Aliadiere 31. Justin Hoyte 32. Theo Walcott 43. Mark Randall 45. Armand Traore That squad is more than capeable of beating Tottenham. I'm not gonna say anything until after we've beaten them over two legs but Arsenal vs. Chelsea would look to be a much more attractive final than Tottenham vs. Chelsea.
It should not be Arsenal vs Chelsea, because I now have unhealthy grudges against both of them: lol:. and I would hate to see either of them win it. Although I don't think spurs have much of a chance against Arsenal.
His scoring record doesn't actually seem that great. I think if Carew played up front with Moore or Agbonlahor he would probably create more goals for them than he would score himself. I'm not trying to put him down, I'm just saying he looks like someone who can create a shedload and score a few himself.
Typical Tottenham, can't hold a lead We were terrible first half but we did well to come from 2 goals down. I just hope we don't play the youngsters again at the Emirates because Tottenham probably would have won if Arsene didn't throw on a few first team players. I'm worried about Hleb though...he seemed to get injured badly when he came on... EDIT: On a brighter note, it seems as if we have entered the race to sign Garath Bale. I think signing Bale would be wise considering Clichy is the only real left back that we have right now. Bale also knows how to whip in a free kick.
If Bale's going to leave Southampton it should be to Arsenal. Then he'll probably have more chance of being in the squad or thereabouts straight away, with a manager who knows how to treat youngsters, although that seems to be the case with Burley as well.
Armand Traore has more than proved in the carling cup that he is a fantastic prospect, i would even play him over Clichy, who i dont like that much, Bale can take a free kick, but so can henry and rvp
that too, but so does Bale, he's only 16/17+ not much more expereienced then Traore...anyway, Baptitsta should be granted a starting place after that performance against Spurs...
I think Bale is miles ahead of Traore. They're both only 17 but Bale has much more quality. That's not to say that Traore wont become a good left back, I just think Bale is already getting there. And about Baptista: I wouldn't want to be Wenger when it's decision time on whether we keep Baptista or not. He's a good player and obviously capeable of scoring goals but the thing is that if you look at his performances in every game he's played you can see that he looks uncomfortable with the pace of the English game and looks fairly average. Even against Liverpool he gave the ball away on numerous occasions and his passing wasn't of a good quality at all. He's been scoring poacher goals aswell, apart from his second goal against Liverpool I havn't actualy seen him start a move and cap it off. But then again how do you say to someone who's scored 7 goals in one competition that they won't be retained? I think Baptista will need to establish himself in the premier league very quickly if he wants a chance to stay with us. I'd love to see him stay and hit the form he had when he was at Sevilla but at the same time Baptista is firmly behind Henry, Van Persie and Adebeyor in the pecking order of strikers so even if he stays it will be a quiestion of how good his form will be. Would I want Reyes to stay instead of him? I don't know yet. I remember seeing Baptista play for Sevilla and thinking jesus christ this guy is good. That was the season he was in the top 3 goal scorers in Spain and then at the start of the 05/06 season when we were heavily linked with signing him I was hoping to god that we would. Of course he didn't and his form slumped a little because of his lack of chances at Madrid but if he could somehow rediscover some of his old form this season then I'd welcome him to stay with open arms. With that being said, Reyes fitted in well with us. He was quite a versetile player aswell in that he could play on both the left wing and as a striker. Reyes also had fucking quick pace and could create as many goals as he could score. The chances of him coming back to us don't look to good right now so if Baptista proves himself we might just swap the two perminantly. However should Baptista not stay I still think Reyes will want to stay in Spain in which case we could probably get around 15-20 million for him because he's on fire at Madrid. I'd like it if we could have both of them lol but Reyes looks alot happier in Spain. It's a shame to lose him though because he fast became a fan favourite here and we certainly didn't expect him to leave after signing a new 6-year deal just a year ago but I guess if his heart is elsewhere then we shouldn't really stop him from leaving. We better get a good deal for him though, it would anger me if we sold our record signing for a cheap price or without a player or two in return. There are also rumours flying around that because of Reye's quality form at Real, Wenger might demand 2 players in return for Reyes. One of course being Baptista (should he decide to keep him) and the other one possibly being Cassano or maybe even Robinho. That would be my idea of a good deal.
