Shut up Hansen, you wankstain. Angel is a good player. He was fouled by Makelele when he went through, and that wasn't a bad effort at the end considering that he took only one touch and that it was from quite a narrow angle.
thank god martin o'neil knows what he is doing, wonder why he ever left Leicester, they could be something big if he stayed on...
Oh, I completly forgot to say, Hellflame, your P'Ship table's spot on, although IMO I think Man Utd can replace Chelski in second spot there, because they were pretty great against the magpies. And yeah, Liverpool are just adjusting now, with Rafa busy tinkering with all his positions. At this rate, methinks he'll put Crouch in defence and try Gerrard at goal.
They can't play any really, really long ball-type styles, as O'Leary proved last season. They made Watford look like Arsenal.
See, I was tempted to put Man Utd at second however think about it for a sec...No Van Nistlerooy. Sure they have Rooney, Saha and Solskjaer but none of them are solid goal poachers like Van Nistlerooy. Rooney is at his best when he's playing off another striker, Saha is very inconsistant and Solskjaer despite looking sharp now will eventualy tire at the pace of the premiership because number one he's old and number 2 he's just gotten back from 2 years out due to injury. I dunno whether Alan Smith will go back to playing as striker but if he does I don't see him making a huge impact either. Man United have come out on fire this season because they wanted to prove that the don't need Van The Man to do well and because of their sheer ambition and pride they have done well in atempting to prove that so far however it's very early days yet, I think that they will start to really struggle soon because of their limited attack options. Thier midfield is completly useless too, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes have had to start carrying the others. Ronaldo is just too greedy with the ball, O'Shea is just there for some reason and Micheal Carrick was the biggest waste if £18.6 million I ever did see. Their defence is quite dodgey too, the Ferdinand/Brown combination at the back doesn't seem to work too well at all, Vidic/Ferdinand work decently together but Vidic still seems to be adapting to the premiership. Also their left back situation is almost as bad as ours. Heinze is forever getting injured, Silvestre doesn't have enough pace and is also injured and Evra was just a waste of £7 million because so far he's done no good for them. The only solid posistions I see in United is Rooney's suport striker position, Edwin Van Der Sar in goal and Gary Neville at right back, otherwise United don't have a hope in hell of winning the title this season.
Arsenal can only play one way in the Premiership and Liverpool have a different team every game, while Chelsea seem pretty much the same as last year - world class players not playing to their potential but doing just about enough to win most of their games while dropping points on a few. After my spasm-induced prediction a few weeks back I'm backing the latter, boring as it is.
Well, although those are great points, as you said they do seem to be on fire right now, and I'm just thinking they've shown they can manage everything so far. And maybe- just maybe- that will help them scrape a place higher up this year- sure, maybe not the title. I can get what your saying- basically, they dont have enough potential anywhere, and sooner or later theyll crumble under the pressure of injuries, non performers etc, and these are just the early stages so the pressure isnt on yet. But then - they have showed that they're capable of managing, so thats where I think they can go ahead, but I guess, in real terms, they arent really capable of keeping a cool head and maintaining the fire. Bah, I've confused myself now, basically I want to say they can do it but they cant, if that made any sense. Plus, IMO Fergie is the weakest of the 4 top club managers, Murinho may be the craziest thing to have escaped from portugal, but honestly, eccentirc though they are Wenger, Rafa and Murinho can bring out the better in their players than Fergie. But then again, I maybe completly wrong considering how little I know about club soccer. EDIT: I didnt mean Wenger was eccentirc though, he seems pretty sane... EDIT2: Dean, what was your prediction?
hmm...i think Deano and Luke have very good points on the table predictions and i must say ill go with Luke on his prediction in the end...it seems quite valid that Man U will eventually drop out unless their strikers really hit form...
people underestimate Chris Sutton...i mean his season with Birmingham wasnt the best but i cant say he was even in full swing then...i mean look at his seasons with Blackburn and Celtic, he was completely on fire! i mean he is still capable of that, im sure..
But he apparently almost retired after he left Blues, so even if O'Neill can get him playing alright he's probably mostly just there for a bit more money. Should probably have signed him until January like Agathe, and then if he wasn't playing well signed a younger striker, or given one of the youth team players a chance.
