I don't think it's bad at all. It stays true to the original song but it's still a slightly different take. There have been far worse NIN covers. Not amazing by any means, though.
Maybe it's just that lady's voice. It sounds totally prepubescent. It's annoying. And I like Flyleaf. It just didn't work in that particular song, to me. But yeah, you're right. There's been far worse NIN covers. Mae comes to mind.
The singer reminds me a lot of Avril from what I heard on a MTV commercial thingie. I kind of liked what I heard; I want to hear a little more.
wow. i only heard 5 seconds of the girl singing the nin cover, and i threw up. no foolies. i can stand them, but i'm sick of hearing about them every 5 minutes at my school. :\
I'm guessing you're not into metal that much then. There are hundreds of Christian bands that scream.
I bet you're one of those kind of people who think that anything that is remotely Christian means that it's upbeat, always singing, no guitar distortion, positive, and usually involves a mention of God or Jesus. Get out from that rock you're living under, boy.
I heard Flyleaf (without looking at the screen) and thought "wow Avril has gone harder now...and......she sucks :|." And there is my opinion of Flyleaf summed up right there.
I have really never noticed a similarity between Flyleaf and Avril until this thread. Geeze, I really dislike Avril...I think Flyleaf is a billion times better.
well, other than a select few artists, i cant stand the growling, etc...but i dont really pay attention to christian bands...im not a religeous person. at all. if a band is christian, and i listen to them, its coincidence....but i dont know exactly what "Genre" the artists i listen to are, because i basic see everything like rock, alt., metal, etc... as "Rock"....and everything else is either "rap, country, jazz" and stuff like that..........but dont get me wrong, i listen to what other people call "metal".....i listen to many different artists.....but as for Flyleaf...i say "Garbage"....she sounds like a sick nine-year-old...ha........but another site for them for those who enjoy their music is http://flyleafmusic.com
