I loved When They Come for Me AND Iridescent. Robot Boy is growing on me. Waiting for the End is probably third.
Burning in the Skies is one of the best songs i've heard this year. It's simply amazing. When the melody-bass comes in, it gives me the chill. I also think it's a perfect opener for ATS after the intros. Think of it, if they had put Wretches and Kings as opening track for instance, it would have been like the old pattern...First track = heavy track. They did so with the rap-core papercut, with Don't stay, Given Up. Putting Burning in the Skies as first real track is like breaking the habit
Honestly, I enjoyed every single song. So hard to pick between Blackout, Iridescent and Waiting For The End.... ...so I voted for When They Come For Me
Haha, damn, people really like Iridescent, When They Come for Me and Burning in the Skies... good choices!
I love how "Blackout" continually subverts expectations, starting with the militaristic rat-a-tat of the snare...then the trippy Depeche Mode electro-beat...then Chester sing-rapping!...then the ridiculous breakdown by Hahn...then it ends with frigging Bennington and Shinoda harmonizing of all things. But because it's LP, all those disparate elements come together perfectly. "Blackout" has gotta be the best track.
It's hard to argue with you there. I couldn't argue with anyone about their choices. This album is basically flawless.
I love every track on the album (interludes included). Iridescent made me cry on first listen, hence slightly more favourite than the rest favourites (which is the whole album ofcourse) Do I make sense? XD
Right now my favorite is still The Catalyst. it'll probably change over the next week or two though. When They Come for me is amazing, Wretches and Kings and The Messenger are great too.
For me it was between Iridescent and When they come for me. In the end I picked When They come for me, its just a really fun song overall and I love mikes rapping on it.
I'd say WTCFM. its such an electic song (probably the best druming I'm heard in ANY song for a long time, Applause to Rob) Mikes lyrics are witty, chester's parts are so unique and orginal. can't wait to see this beast live. Iridecent is my least favourite though. Sorry guys, I'm just not feeling it yet.
