Hopefully the host's alright with hosting a tracker on the site.

if the host is, i'd love to see this idea come off the ground. if not, we can do it on my server, it's noting being used for anything anyways.

just gotta wait for derek to give us the okay.

If you can get a torrent tracker off the ground, I'll seed anything and everything I have. I'm one of the few who actually uploads LP stuff to public trackers such as DIME, so an LP specific tracker would be a welcome addition.

my server is fine with it too - hahninator.sotrix.net is always open for anything LP :p

and damn lprussia.com to hell, damn them to hell. they stole the entire mp3 show without asking, gave no credit AND they're selling it.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to set up a .htaccess on your site that block referrers that wasn't from the LPA.

that'd be cool - if there was a way to block russian IP's I'd go for it ASAP.

Warner can't do crap about the illegal stuff on their site, based solely on the fact that it's fine for them to do that in Russia...it isn't illegal there... :( damnit

    yep.

and we can make it like oink minus the ratio watches. like it has to be invited by a lpa member. this will prevent stealing of media and such.

if we do this we're going to need recorders, rippers, the whole nine yards.

    niice.

i was wondering if the tracker could somehow tie into vbulletin's auth system. i know it's possible with ipb [converge], but i don't know about vb, perhaps Todd would know.

The only way we'd EVER consider a tracker is if was used for things like Linkin Park bootlegs that absolutely cannot be purchased anywhere. And I think our host would be OK with it. But, absolutely no albums or crap like that put up, because that would be 100% illegal.

And frankly, I wouldn't get too ahead of yourselves yet. The staff hasn't even discussed it and we're not sure if we'd even go through with it.
