Something you gotta' remember is that a band is probably not going to tape every show they do, they usually plan it out, so therefore if they don't do as well as other shows, then what can you do? If live releases work like album releases, you don't have all the time in the world and if you're telling a crowd (usually what artists do to get their crowds hyped), and then end up using another show, I don't think that's too respectable to the crowd you didn't use. All in all, you cannot expect a singer to be on top of their game every single night and if it's recorded, then so be it because those "fans lost" are the fans who don't appreciate hard work and how hard it really is to keep your voice going so much for so long. You cannot expect a voice like Amy Lee's to be top notch every show, but I know for a fact she can sing very well as like I said, I have seen them live, and listening to bootlegs and actually being there sometimes can differ in what you hear. Also, I do give her props for being a female, but it's nothing bad. It's a bit rare to see a band led by a female vocalist be in the spotlight so much and having the type of voice she has. It's not a raw metal screaming voice, but the difference is that she can in fact go from a low to high note in an impressive amount of time. I personally do not know many who can do that.
Do you have any idea how much it would cost to set up audio equipment at every single show, to record at every single show, to mix every single show, then, on top of that, LISTEN to every single show and find out the best one, then delete every single show except the singular one chosen and then print it?
I'm pretty sure they have like 3 CDs worth of recordings though, including Origin and all the miscelaneous songs they released.
I'm pretty sure they have like 3 CDs worth of recordings though, including Origin and all the miscelaneous songs they released. [/b][/quote] Yeah. And after touring for almost two years non-stop, putting out a live album makes perfect sense.
I just watched a clip of it and it looks alright. It's your typical band with wacky antics plus music making DVD. I won't buy it but I might download it.
i didn't think it was that bad..yeah it had it's moments..but live albums are obviously a little more difficult to sound perfect on.
I direct you towards the best live album(s) ever made: Metallica's S&M (I shit you not) NIN's And All That Could Have Been I rock.
KoRn will release the best DVD ever, when they do that. And you know why? More than 7 albums, dozens of amazing songs, 10 years of experience. Ah, yeah, excitement too. I don't know if it's true, but a mate of mine who went to see Evanescence live, it was all about Amy Lee. The other guys were almost sleeping up there.
BTW, I wasn't saying that Amy Lee sucks or anything, I was just saying that this show might not interest some people, and check it out before you buy it.
It was my opinion I wasn't passing judgements. Do you know me! Yes, I can sing like that and will prove it by taping it on the computer and posting it. (Just have to download the program first). I don't get shy so I can preform to large numbers, I have a band. I do have appreciation for dedicated artists but I think people are giving her too much credit she sounds nothing like the cd. Even on the first night of touring so you can't use the excuse she's tired because she's been touring for two years. (Which she hasn't). For two years every two days straight are you mad she hasn't been singing every two days since she became famous! All I said was she sings bad live so why all the sarcasim, it doesn't take brains to sing it takes lungs, effort, breath and rhythm so why call me genius? I never said I was. You think I said I was better than her and I'm so full of it when I'm not...I just NEVER saw a concert where she sang well, ever! You're telling me not to judge her while you judged me without even knowing/hearing me! *cough*hypocrite*cough*
LOL! They started touring two months before their album Fallen came out (and it came out three weeks before Linkin Park's Meteora) and the last show they played wasn't that long ago. That's almost 18 months. So it's not two years, but 18 months on the road supporting your album is very rough on a vocalist. Also, sounding exactly like she does on the CD would be bad. People would pin her as a lip-syncher. It's good she doesn't sound like the CD. Chester and Mike don't sound like they do on the CD; why don't you go say that people give them too much credit? Oh, that's right, because they, like Amy Lee, deserve all the credit they get. I'd like to see you do it, since you seem so damn sure you can. I think you're jealous.
Hah. Not only do you need to learn to spell, you need to learn definitions. Alright. Prove me wrong. Post it up. I won't be biased. Oh, wait. Find 20,000 people first, then get up on stage. And then do it for two straight years. See how long your voice holds up. Sugar water does the trick, I hear!
Maybe if she sat on a chair and drinking honeytea (or whatever) she would sound like the album, but when you're running around the stage trying to get the crowd started, you wont get the full notes. You dont have to download it, so let us hear mrs im-much-better-than-amy-lee
Oh really? Can you prove that? Ok, you call Amy up right now and have her tell us in her own words that she hasnt. Stop thinking you know everything, because as it seems, its the total opposite.
I've seen Evanescence live, they're great, though Terry was just stnding there playing the guitar. John and Will were moving around, but Amy was amazing. Jumping everywhere, singing those fucking high notes that I would never be able to do. Usually before the first two-three songs she sounds flat, but afterward she's amazing.
Are you a fan of the band or what? You have the band in your sig but yet you sit here and completely bash Amy Lee. Talk about Hypocritical. Then again, I guess you could like the band on CD and not live, though that doesn't make sense to me.
Hey, that's my line Anyway, i think i can sing just like Corey Taylor every time i sing along Duality. But there's more to handling success than a good voice, believe me.
I'm honest, I don't just lie and say she's good live just because I like her music so I'm not a hypocrite. I didn't say I was better than her I could never write the lyrics she does...all I'm saying is I don't like her live. Then again I haven't been doing what she does so I wouldn't know, you're right...I hate when other people are right and I'm wrong. How do you record on the computer? Some proof since I know you all don't belive me. I still think her voice shouldn't be THAT bad live. WTF is this spelling and definitions thing? This is the first time I use grammar, punctuation and spelling when I'm not in school so I don't care if I spell things wrong! It shows I know.
