Well, Avril has stated in several interviews that she wanted her new album to be more hard rock and have a lot less of that pop crap in it, so I think working with Ben on the new album is probably a very good choice, in my opinion.
Indeed. Plus, Avril's music isn't really that bad. Her CD is one of the few pop-rock CDs I can listen to without wanting to die.

he wrote only a handful, amy wrote most of them
Amy wrote the lyrics, the music is written by Ben.
Ben's... gone for good? And a few months ago I saw them on tv- Ben smiling at the camera telling it how him and Amy met at some camp, and that he's really glad evanescence is doing well and what evanescence means (to dissapate like vapour)....
It's kind of sad how things can change so quickly though, eh?
Yes. I just saw the "My Immortal" video a few days ago and that's most likely the last video with Ben in it.
You wanna know something really ironic? On Evanescence's official bio it says " lthough the band's name may suggest a sudden vanishing, the music of Evanescence is poised for longevity." And Ben just left, suddenly..hes Evanescent! (By the way I like evanescence a lot, and ben's great guitarist, but im not gonna cry about it.)
