You're a good man, man. I would have bought that shit, and would have told them it isn't out until the 14th after it was already scanned and paid for.

I think it is just wal-mart's no parental advisory albums policy. You should be fine in best buy, target, etc.. Just make sure it has the parental advisory sticker on it.

I looked on targets website and the are selling the censored, uncensored, and special edition of ATS....... I will be taking by business to Target for now on. My friend works there and he said they do have the albums out but if you try to by them a alarm will go off saying dont sell the album till sep.14, He said he would attempt to steal the special version for me as a birthday present :)

I hope your friend gets caught, loses his job, and spends a couple nights in jail.

Why? If your friend is going to steal, which is illegal, I hope he gets punished for it.

I hope he gets cuffed, jailed, and molested by a 20 year old, 800lb gorrila named Harry who hates cream pies.

Stealing is definitely wrong, downloading and stealing a physical copy are two very separate things. There's limited number of said CD which includes printed art, CD case, packaging and the whole of production, which a lot of money goes into but a digital file is copied a multiple of times. Also most people who download music most likely end up paying for it, if your friend is going to steal an album from a store he should pay the consequences and I think if you know he's stealing it and you accept it you can also be caught up in the legal complications as accessory to thief. Which means either a fine or jail time, don't be stupid and don't accept it and don't let your friend steal the album for you.

Wow this is just the argument people use to say downloading is OK and is not stealing. Stealing an album via Internet and stealing a physical copy is the same thing.

Okay, fair enough, but a lot of people who download the leak are going to go out and buy the physical CD. I'm buying three versions of it tomorrow. What is the likelihood of the guy stealing the physical copy, that he is going to go home and buy the iTunes digital version? Pretty slim.

Did you even read what I said about people paying for it? As soon as I get money I will pay for it, also you're stealing more than just a song when you steal from a store but, I already know your argument so we'll just agree to disagree.

I believe the law is that I can accept anything that anyone steals just as long as I don't attempt to sell it. Just like online. You cant get in trouble for downloading torrents and things you can only get in trouble if you are selling it. I did mean to get a argument started up on the whole subject. But bLePn is right... we all did steal the album already

That's totally true. But how many people steal physical copies (you have so much chances to get caught) while you can download the entire album in your house. I'll buy the album too, even if I already saw the documentary and listened to the songs hundreds of times, but because i'm a fan and want to support the band. The percentage of people who won't is pretty big. LP will never sell 15 millions copies again, that time has end. The thing is, and i'm going to be a little off topic, that majors now want to make money from songs and singles via Itunes. They sell them only 99 cents, but if you have 8 million people buying a song at 99 cents... And I think LP took a major risk with this album and all the songs that are less then 2 minutes, because people will mostly listen to the album and only buy the 'real songs' or the ones that go on the radio. They took the risk of making less money on purpose because of that (and i'm not saying that's a bad thing, I think it's amazing that they were willing to do that to do the album they wanted to make)

You will, but so much people will not. When NIN put its album for free, the number of people who downloaded it without paying, cause the choice was given, was major.

    I agree with that.

Ugh...... Fine Ill go buy the album so yall would stop trippin. I have to much respect for LP to steal from them

BTW- How is there not a way to stop people from ripping music. I would think how much money the record companies are loosing, they havent put something on the CD's to stop rippers

they could do something like DVDs but it take too much work to do so. Plus prices will probably increase and hackers will always find a way to steal anyways

CDs were invented way before everyone had computers and an internet connection. The ability to rip a CD to a computer file and share it with the entire world in a matter of minutes was unthinkable back then. To implement some sort of copy protection (likely encryption like DVD and Blu-ray) on CDs now would effectively make every single CD player made up to this point obsolete as they would not have the required hardware to decrypt those CDs and play them.

I don't get it, why the fuck would you do such a thing and report them to WB? And now someone might lose their job just because you're "a HUGE Linkin Park fan" and it pisses you off that they accidentally put some stupid CD up for sale a couple of days before they were supposed to.. Boohoo, it's not a perfect world, people make mistakes. Why didn't you just tell the store manager to take them out and avoid trouble? Really selfish..
