I'm not so sure this really deserves its own thread, but oh well. So anyway, I was listening to Kansas's Dust In The Wind on YouTube earlier today and one of the related videos was a Linkin park cover of that song. Only when I gave it a listen, it wasn't them. So, does anyone happen to know whether or not they ever covered that song?
I could have sworn they covered a small part of the song live, like they did with Sweet Child 'o Mine.
It would be great if they did cover this song, being as it had such a key part in the development of Platonic and Socratic philosophy.
They've never covered the song. The live version that commonly circulates as Linkin Park is the version from Kansas' live album Two for the Show.
My 73 year old mother (for whom I was searching) says this is the same band who did a cover of Dust in the Wind in the late 70's or early 80's, the name of band escapes her... but, she swears that this is the band, and that it was definitely NOT Kansas... all my searches found no covers recorded before '83, and that one, she says, was not it... I hear the sound of the record (LP) scratching in the background, so that would be the right era. If you find out, please let me know! If you find out that its Kansas after all, that confirms MY suspicions from the beginning! But I'd still like to know!
