Really love these vids! Nice interview! I don't care for who's talking which parts but I sure care for what they're saying with this. Apart from the music it's the main thing I love about the band, the message the members carry out.. Making whatever you want to make an staying true to what you believe in. Very inspirational!
I'd love to hear each member of the band talk about the making of Hybrid Theory. Shit would be insane. Make a damn movie out of it.
Man that would be nice indeed! I guess this will be made when LP reaches oldie status, all members are 60+ and they only occasionally perform on stage. Then only pensioners will attend to their concerts and we will all be a part of them. Radio will play In The End as classic track (which it is already today I guess) and Warner (or whoever) will make this movie about LP, to squeeze the last bit of money out of them. Kinda scary.
Great to hear more about the gimmicks. I remember on "The Battle" on the Rising Tied that Mike talked about them wanting to dress Joe up like a chemist, but the other stuff was brand new.
When Chester talks, it's like you really want to hear what he has to say. I love Mike and I look up to him, but when Chester is speaking you feel his excitement and sincerity more than with Mike. Mike comes across like an established and sophisticated artist, whereas Chester is like a really good friend just hanging out.
Chester did get his flame-tattoos around the time HT was released though. More prominent than a red hat if you ask me. A piercing on his chin. Brad has got his signature-headphones. They had one vocalist with red hair and one with white. They kinda tried to build a character around "Mr. Hahn" with Cure For The Itch even though Mike probably wrote the whole song and directed his scratches. I'm not saying the label controlled these things, but they were definitely aware of gimmicks and image at the time.
Mike sounds like a robot because he always gets asked the same questions and people are expecting different answers.
Haha that was fucking awesome seeing Chester so fired up. Regardless of what you have ever thought of any of their albums, nobody can deny that Hybrid Theory unconditionally represents the blood sweat and tears of those six guys. They worked damn hard to get where they are right now.
That has nothing to do with gimmicks though Chester is a fan of tattoos, I don't think he did those with the sole purpose of selling a rockstar image to the public.
