Don't Stay is a good song. If Mike was on it no one would say it sounded like OSC...which it doesn't. The whole song structure is different. ..And..Hit The Floor doesn't sound ANYTHING like Points..and so what if they borrowed something (which I don't see) from it? They made the song in the first place.
hi, Look this may sound harsh for the meteora fans. I basically feel that the whole album sounds the same.LP uses the same formula for all the songs.Mike raps, chester sings the chorus, mike raps again, chester sings the chorus then suddenly gets fits and screaming the hell for being a loser at high school. So basically the whole album is similar. Following songs use the above RAP-SING-RAP-SCREAM formula-- DON'T STAY SOMWHERE I BELONG LYING FROM YOU HIT THE FLOOR FAINT FIGURE.09 FROM THE INSIDE HEY LP YOU GOTTA CHANGE BEFORE YOU BRING OUT UR NXT ALBUM ITS LIMPBIZKIT BABY!!
Well I dont really like meteora honestly. The only songs I prefer to listen are dont stay (which I prefer to call "sick", the original working title, it sounds more rock for me :chaz: ), "lying from you", "figure.09" and "from the inside". the rest sounds all like the old songs and that bores me than hell.
Don't stay: Best live song form meteora, awesome scratch solo by Joe, Good guitar riff, I can even hear the bass thumping in the verses, the drums are pretty good, the vocals are strong and in tune with the music, and the lyrics are mediocre. In my opinion however, i do like Don't stay more than OSC based on their album versions. But LP's use of the same formula does not bother me that much cause there are a lot of bands (whom many people like) that have the same problem, often worse. For example, From autumn to ashes, who i used to like, has typical emocore lyrics that kinda wear out after a time. Atreyu, another example, has the same problem, and in their first album, the guitarist uses similar redundant guitar riffs in each song, no variations, but there are still those people who argue that those bands are musically superior to LP
Limp Bizkit? Don't let me use the chocolate starfish, wasted, mainstream rap-like lyrics, and sell-out argument

In my opinion, Don't Stay isn't that great in terms of lyrics but they make up for that with an awesome tune and the scratch solo. Damn, I sound like someone who thinks a song is trash unless it has great lyrics... :chemist:
I agree, the bridge doesnt really build up to anything, and it repeats twice, and the second time they repeat the bridge its no different from the first time. In my opinion it should of got harder and then built up to the chourus.

Don't Stay, mm ... It's a great opening song for Meteora, with a good melody. But the lyrics don't seem to stick to me as much as the rest do. But I like the bridge.
