Australia's music scene is fucking killing it right now. Karnivool are dropping "Asymmetry" on July 19, and Dead Letter Circus following closely with the release of their second studio album on August 9, titled "The Catalyst Fire". Their latest single "Lodestar", along with its music video, will be released on July 5. The album will be available to pre-order in bundles as of July 3, alongside the release of "Project Dead Letter II: The Inner Circle". Safe to say ... I am fucking keen! Ninja Edit: More on "Project Dead Letter II: The Inner Circle" ...
Damn, Australia is definitely killing it in the best way possible. Dead Letter Circus, Karnivool, Calling All Cars (these guys need to release their music in the US goddammit), and Hilltop Hoods have easily released some of the best material in the last decade in my honest opinion. I'll definitely be looking forward to the new DLC record along with Karnivool's new album coming out later this year.
They released this gem a couple weeks ago from their new album. You should check them out. Awesome band.
I'm not much of a describer. I'd say they're in the same extremely large area as Dead Letter, but they're pretty different. You'll have to listen to their latest single for yourself before I break everything.
Karnivool have been around far longer than Dead Letter and their lead vocalists sound somewhat different.
For some odd reason, Lost Without Leaders is currently available on iTunes. It's great. Also, the band premiered Lodestar on national radio station Triple J, hopefully someones got their hands on it somewhere. Excited for the new album. Edit: Lodestar located.
I don't think anybody posted the music video yet, so...
"Say Your Prayers" is streaming now. It's an interesting track, I think it'll need more growing on me, but it's still pretty good.

Frankly the new ep is worth picking up. Just fantastic. I wasn't sure how Stand Apart or Burning Man would translate, but they did a good job.
I really like Dead Letter, but this new single just sucks. I can appreciate changing things up, but I hope that this isn't indicative of the next album. I honestly hope it isn't on the next album.
I'm not sure what to make of the new album. I think I read somewhere that thy were trying to go for more of an organic sound, and I suppose they did. But, it seems like they lost a degree of tightness due to it. None of it struck me as immediately great or horrible, just kinda sloppy sounding. Just sort-of phoned in. As if they didn't really have an idea of what they wanted the album to be. The Catalyst Fire had to grow on me, so maybe this one will too, but as of right now, i'm just not impressed.
