Cut The Bridge - Song Discussion

This is also kind of how I feel about it, in a way. It's linked with the excitement and anticipation of the moments after TEM I had at my own local listening party. I can't separate it from those emotions and all the thoughts and ideas of what this first new song would sound like. Maybe this biases me more toward it. But I like the song a lot.

I'm already bored of this song I still kind of like it but it's so repetitive and basic.

This song has big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ energy. A less bitter BIO, for sure, with raps I like just as much.

While it hit hard first listen, I quickly started to think I didn’t like the tone of the message next to the tone of the music. Not so much the last few listens, though. It’s not getting better?, but it’s great.

Another fun drum flourish at the end, though. I like those.

 

The pre-chorus on this song melts my atmosphere.

 

Incredible how much this song has grown on me. At first, I thought it was just mid, but now I absolutely love it.

The bridge is a highlight for sure. Not just for the song, but for the album as a whole. It's that good.

 

I like that the band is finally admitting they should have "Cut Until It's Gone"

 

This bastard of a song is so catchy, it's seducing me into making it climb the album hierarchy.

 

My favorite thing about it is the riff, pretty nice hook

 

With some distance I've mellowed on this song but I definitely still tend toward the positive. I really like Emily's prechoruses and Mike's bridge especially.
