I've never really associated Crawling with Numb at all. Crawling is a classic. Numb........ I never understood why it was a single, much less the 2nd favorite song of the entire listening fanbase behind ITE. Numb and Session were the only two songs I'd skip on Meteora.
Jethro Tull won a Grammy over Metallica in that same category and Public Enemy have never won, period.
Numb is arguably just as if not more iconic than Crawling. At the very least it has more mass appeal since there's no screaming. I voted for Crawling because Numb has never been a favorite of mine...poor lyrics and nothing interesting really happens in the song, though I do enjoy the bridge.
Don't get me wrong I like Numb but, I choose Crawling because it was the first time i ever recall hearing LP.
This is like choosing which one of your kids you like best Lol. However, I have to pick Crawling. The line "Against my will I stand beside my own reflection. It's haunting how I can't seem..." goes down as one of my fav LP lines ever, and is the difference in this battle.
I love Crawling, but I honestly hate Numb. It's the only song Linkin Park song I skip when listening to music.
Crawling and Numb are similar. Next time I'll probably hear Foreword and What We Don't Know are similar. Crawling, by the way, is the better song.
Oh my god, that line is AMAZING! I totally agree with you. Crawling easily beats out Numb. Crawling is one of the songs that made Linkin Park my favorite band. Along with One Step Closer and In the End.
