First of all, please, specifications don't make a system, 'games' make the system. Showing me specifications of a system will only make me laugh harder. First of all, you're trying to prove the X-Box is best by it's hardware alone, yet, X-Box is currently being screwed over by it's lack of hardware security and hackability (sp?), and sooner or later, free versions of X-Box games will be available everywhere, and piracy will corrupt it like it did the Dreamcast. Then all the fanboys (not nessecarily whoever posted the specs, no offense to you) who cry about "My X-Box is like a computer and will crush the Cube because of it's G-Whatever Processor" will truly be crying, when the X-Box crashes and burns like the Dreamcast did. I love fanboys, i'm glad none exist on these forums.
Xbox has the best specifications, just the stupidest games. "Shrek" the game? Oooookay. Of course there's the incredible Halo, but what else? To be honest, I think PS2 and Gamecube are the best consoles out there right now because they've got the greatest games.
This is what I was getting at. Of course, I can argue that X-Box has some good games (Halo, etc.), but it just doesn't match the library of the Game Cube and the PS2. "Game Cube is a kiddy system and X-Box is like the playboy mansion, you little kid!" Uhh, no. See, X-Box is actually quite juvenile in essence. It's trying to show off that it has the ability to produce "sexual" games that no other system can rival, nor would dare to rival. What does this prove? It means 30 year olds can now stop renting a porno at $0.99, and go purchase a cartoon version, with no nudity, only playing around for $49.99. What does Microsoft take us for? Idiots? If the X-Box gamers were really "Mature", they would either a.) Not sink to the level of porno b.) Go out and by a real porno, instead of playing around and screwing themselves over with the X-Box. c.) Try to educate themselves about a little up and coming thing called, uhh, oh yeah, "The Internet" So actually, the "kiddy" system is the X-Box. Because, when you compare to other "Sex" companies, it doesn't compare, and appears "kiddy" (dayam i'm good at this debate crap.). And please, don't anyone try telling me that "DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball" had any replay value beyond looking at near naked 3D models of hot babes...because we all know the gameplay physics were about as deep as bathroom tub with no water. I know, if I was Game Cube, I would tremble at the X-Box's ability to produce "mature" games. Has X-Box and Microsoft lost their minds? "Maturity" doesn't revolve around sex and violence, it revolves around deep thought, etc. So by providing games that are real, next-level, fun, etc., I believe that's what "Mature" gamers are looking for.
Nice debate Elie, but it's funny you didn't mention one game that GameCube has produced for a mature audience. Mario Party XXVI? Mario Kart MXVVI? Super Monkey Ball IV? Mature, indeed. Don't get wrong, I love that console and those games, but your argument lacks facts to prove otherwise. Xbox had one perverted game; so you can't really go off with that.
X-Box also uses that game and the fact that it has "parental controls" as a basis that in the future, can house adult AND kid games, which is what I was getting at. They said themselves that DOA: Xtreme Beach Volleyball was the begining... Game Cube, and you list three games? I think Game Cube has proven itself to be more than the "kiddy" system itself. Now, it owns rights to the Resident Evil franchise up to RE 4, has many other mature games, yet it can still come back to the roots with the games that Jonny listed. Game Cube proves itself again and again as a great system. I'm still waiting for the X-Box to do the same.
Hey, 3 games is better than your 1 game. Resident Evil, that's it? Which RE are we on now? 14? What other mature games does the oh-so-great GC have?
*Huff* *puff* Ok? Would you like 3rd party? Or in house franchises? Uh, I don't care, cause, I don't keep track - Eternal Darkness - BMX XXX - Beyond Good and Evil - Blood Omen 2 - Blood Rayne - Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (big baaay bay!) - P.N. 03 (big baaay bay!) Those aren't all of them those are just the ones that are on my mind currently. And all those games are decent/looking decent, and keep in mind, this isn't even Game Cube's strong area and it still prevails. If you ask some extremist GC person, he could probably rattle off many more titles that I missed.
Aren't all or most of those games on PS2 as well? HAHAHAHAHA. Now you're not an extremist GC guy? Sure you didn't say it, but you sure seemed to give us that idea. You've failed; I've won the debate! I am the ultimate *sshole!!!
Uh? 2 of those games are on PS2...that's it. But if it helps your debating skills, you can call yourself the winner.
