So glad that Bojam wasnt real - had major problems. I love waking up recently everytime I wake up and come on to LPA something new and exciting is going on

 

I remember when I first heard the first snippets of "Bleed it Out" I thought it was garbage, but then the final version was good. Same thing here, kinda. After the 2nd listen of the clip in page 3, I like what i'm hearing.

Hmmm. I really don't like the song much (as it is). The lyrics are about only positive I can find from the clip. Mike's part entirely to computerized (not sure if that's even a word ha). Chesters part seems more like yelling then screaming/singing, and I don't really enjoy that either. I like the 'concept' of a more elctronica/dance type Linkin Park, but I have to be honest; I just don't like what I've heard SO FAR. Yes, I'm fully aware that the song is only a sampling and I will wait to pass harsher judgement.

As for the title name, very unoriginal. I loved the concept art / album name / band name for chesters solo project, and expected more of the same. 'A Thousand Suns' is, for lack of a better word, lame. It is incorporated in a saying for god sakes. "Like the fire of a thousand suns" It was as bright as "a thousand suns". Total cop-out title name. I like the single name however! I just hope the rest of the tracks are better.

And for anyone who thinks I just don't like Linkin Park 'changing' they're wrong. I loved (most) of MtM and listen to a variety of music. I have Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton on my Ipod for god sakes. Anways, just my 2 cents.

Well, regardless of categorization, my point still stands. The entitlement of the genre is irrelevant, just merely a social construct. I am just making presumptions (which they are just that) as to what the genre COULD be. As I think, since this is all they've released so far, that is fair is it not? This is a forum after all; a place where people can discuss possibilities and convey ideas of where the album could be going based off what they've released. If you don't think it's ill-advised for people to bounce around ideas of what the album could be like, that's your own demeanor. Plus, In no where did I just state they are indefinitely heading in dance/electronica, just that it was a cool concept/thought. Anyways, I look forward to hearing more from LP .

You're right. I don't know what the title is referencing, but I honestly don't know how the album title is going to be that involved with the music itself.

It's a mark against it because it's not very original. It seems like the title was almost copy and pasted for use. I think the band could of came up with something more original, and more importantly, something more of their own.

As for the other message. Of course, I haven't given up hope on The Catalyst. I love Linkin Park and will play it over and over before I decide on it. When I first heard M2M, I absolutely hated In Pieces and Valentines Day (especially VD), but now I enjoy them both as they taught me to open my mind.

 

Yah, Out of Ashes isn't -that- original but it's decent. Dead by Sunrise is pretty cool (not as cool as their previous name Snow White Tan imo). I just hoped for a different title. In all honesty, it's not that big of a deal, it's just a name... the music is what matters.

actually, not that im going against anything you or anyone else is saying, Chester had said that Meteora was kind of a name they got when they couldnt come up with anything else, not to say that its not a badass album title or anything.

Alexred, that version is good! I found one that I prefer over it. I actually enjoy this version of The Catalyst, although it could still use some tweeking for sure (the piano intro is about 30 seconds too long). Mind you, for whatever reason, this video takes forever to buffer ! Grrr!
