Coheed prep fifth album

    Yeah the part i bolded kind of annoys me about a few band's fans. If you're listening to band just for their technicality, do it right and listen to Mahavishnu Orchestra or more recent -but not too recent- Dream Theater.

    I have no problem with people listening to non technical bands just incase that's how i came off. But it just annoys me when people state they like a band because they're technical when they aren't.

    I think a lot of younger fans especially think that they're more technical than they really are just because they're not afraid to use guitar solos with regularity, which is still a rarity with most current mainstream bands. Claudio and Travis are both good guitar players, but only on a level comparable to a lot of the big classic rock guitarists of the 60s and 70s, which makes for good-sounding guitar parts, but nothing that's terribly difficult.

    I will give them a nod for being a band that's always had pretty technical drummers though, whether it be Josh Eppard or Chris Pennie.
