Late, haven't been on the site in a bit, but yeah, I absolutely love the song. Dozens of views of the video and I continued to find new hidden meanings and messages. And I do really like the song by itself, too. Of course the video elevates it a lot, but still a good song.

Mad props to Donald Glover. He can honestly do it all.

Sorry if I'm late by a few months, but I'm obsessed with "This Is America". So much that I would look up parodies and covers of it.

Glover supposedly bit the entire song and style from an unsigned artist.

Nah I've heard that other song, saying he straight up copied and stole that song from 2016 is a real stretch. They have a similar style, that's about it lol.

That guy is probably just trying to ride off the wave of Childish Gambino's success.

EDIT: Case in point, a lot of people are now talking about him and checking his music out because of this. He was nobody a week ago.

Yeah that guy made a song and released it in 2016 and it's really similar to This Is America, but he probably only recorded it so he could ride the wave of Gambino's buzz two years later.

    what

Of course Gambino stans would rush to his defense.

Great rapper but I don't like it when music gets political. Music is suppose to bring us together not tear us apart.

Do you think "This Is America" is tearing us apart?

@Mark - Well you can't deny it's a totally one sided take on a situation.

It’s not a song I like personally but I have no problem with artists using their medium to express social issues. Artists are just normal people too, they just happen to have a louder voice because of their platform. Music has always had a voice in politics or social issues and that won’t change.

imo, some of the best music out there is political. it takes a stance. it takes risks. it creates an impact. it spreads a message. thats one of the best things you could do with your art.
