I think the thing i appreciate about this song is that it does something that a lot of THP failed to do, which was turn a riff into something akin to a melodic hook. THP was a sort of aimless heaviness. If THP got closer to *this* sound, I'd like that album a lot more.

Right now, the 1-2 combo Casualty-Overflow may be one of my favorite segue in their entire discography, among the likes of APFMH-Forgotten or WFTE-Blackout.

An album at that level from beginning to end would be credible contender to beat HT and ATS for me.

This is easily their heaviest song imo. Even Mike's doing hardcore vocals. Love it.

Rebellion had alot of melody, and is one of the heavier songs on the album

My bud and I think that the lyrics here are fantastic, and he doesn’t even like Casualty.

“Put through the paces but I got left behind”

    Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh.

Super heavy, super catchy. The back and forth "but I'm not running, cause something's coming" is gold. And Em almost choking on the pre bridge, and the heavy bridge itself.

    Short, hard, badass gold.

I first heard the new album on Christmas and this is my favorite. Never thought I would hear Mike sing intense like that.

This one and "Overflow" have been my primary reasons for returning to this album. "Casualty" in particular gets in my head in a way the rest of the album doesn't with that riffage and Mike's delivery.

I also just love how despite it tending toward the more hardcore-influenced sound of THP, it integrates some classic LP ideas with some transitional drum breaks and turntable scratches/cuts. If this was the vibe of all of THP it would have been a 10/10 for me.

    This is it. Spot-on description.

There is something special here about Mike delivery, the groove of the drums, the tone of the bass, the riff in the chorus, the small drum breaks transitions, and how everything connects together. And of course, Emily monstrous performance on top of it.

Somehow, this track feels authentic in a way not many heavy LP tracks have hit me. And again, the combo with Overflow is absolutely perfect!

What makes Casualty better than THP is that the mixing and production is actually really good and it doesn't sound like someone recorded a radio with their old Nokia phone

It's more gritty and raw without sounding just bad. The album has grown on me recently, but it's hard to get past some of the production issues. Casualty is what THP should have sounded like.

I love Casualty but Id say there's at least 4-5 songs on THP that are better

I'm only talking about the mixing and production, in that aspect there's nothing on THP that sounds better.
