I dunno why you're all hating Nu-Metal or whatever but this takes the piss...I love Limp Bizkit...so what if they made a bad record, may I remind you that Chocolate Starfish is one of the best albums of the 21st Century. If this does mean they're splitting then I'm very upset about this however if it just means that Wes is leaving again then fine but the music he's making with that new band of his is mush worse than any track on TUT and he will most likely never have the same success he had with LB again. Making crappy NIN sounding records wont get you anywhere I'm afraid.
Does Black Light Burns actually have music out, or are people just assuming it will sound like Nine Inch Nails because Danny Lohner is in it? i'm going to keep my comment about the best albums of the 21st century remark to myself.
I loved their first 3 albums, but Fred is a little too egotistic and their last two studio efforts just lacked. As much of a fan as I used to be this is for the best.
The music is out, I couldn't find the page where its posted but the music sounds almost identical to NIN.
Sounding like a RATM clone obviously didn't Limpbizkit anywhere, now did it? How many copies of their last album did they sell? They didn't even make the Billboard Top 100. Black Light Burns might sound like a bad Nine Inch Nails ripoff, but here's the key to being a clone/ripoff of a band and be successful at it: rip-off a band that is popular right now. Limpbizkit didn't follow that route, and now they're paying for it. Their sound was never original (best album of the 21st Century? Holy fuck. I know you're a fan of LB and all, but goddamn). The music industry won't cry when Durst officially disbands them. Neither will I. The legion of fans that first got introduced to rock by "Nookie" in 1999 have moved on. They won't cry. The ones that have stuck around up until now won't either, because they saw what a failure of a band Limpbizkit is. This isn't an attack on Hellflame, but rather Limpbizkit as a whole.
I said one of the best, not the best True enough the last album was a load of crap but in all seriousness any fan who doesn't stick around for their band because they come out with one bad album is idiotic. I'm sorry but it doesn't make sense...loads of people always do that wether its their favorite band or their favorite sports team, as soon as they see failure they leave as quick as if a dude with a chainsaw was chasing after them. RMV lost them alot of fans (I dunno why though, I thought it was pretty good lol) and TUT probably pushed the remaining ones over the edge but come on...who can honestly say that they'd stop liking their favorite band if they went through a bad phase and ignoring the fact that the next album could have the potential to put them on the map?
Honestly, I don't have the answers to those questions. Some fans may be like you think, some may be like I think. My generalization might be idiotic, but I bet it rings true in many Limpbizkit fans. I don't think the next album was ever going to put them on the map. Fair enough, yeah, I never heard it. But neither did you. It was a 50/50 toss up that it'd either suck or be awesome. But generally when you release a bad album, it takes a string of bad albums to get out of the rutt.
I don't think people quit liking their favorite band because they make one bad album. I think they quit liking them because the individual loses interest in their music, due to a lack of change, a lack of inspiration, etc. I know that if you would've asked me a year and a half ago, I would've told you that Linkin Park was my favorite band. Going from then to today, I don't even listen to Linkin Park. Granted, I don't hate them, but I'm just not interested in what they have to say/have said anymore. I don't dislike them for Meteora, like a lot of people, I just dislike them because of a personal thing, where I've moved on from that, rather than any one thing in particular that they have done. Back on subject, I've never been a fan of Limpbizkit. Except I liked that song Rollin' like.. 3 years ago because some wrestler had it as his music when he came to the ring. I don't remember who.
www.myspace.com/blacklightburns They did came in the Top 100, but went out pretty fast. Im not going to cry about it, but I thought Limpbizkit was/is a great band and i'll never say that the band is a failure so dont speak for every Limp fan.
Yes, i'll be honest when I say this. I was a hardcore Limp fan...hell, my brother even put it out there to someone. Significant Other is one of the greatest albums of all time IMPO. Hell, I even have Otto's autograph in my wallet thanks to my dad. Does it suck that they're dead? Yes. Do I miss them? No.
I would like to point out that you didn't mention vocals at all. And that is why we dislike Limp Bizkit. Fred. Durst.
I'm kinda sorry for Fred Durst he was always trying to make it and when he finally thought he did with 3 Dollar Bill it went down hill from there hope Wes and maybe Fred find something else to do in music. Fred could direct videos it's always nice for us to see Halle Berry in a music video ...
