I really like Mike's Part in Lying From You. And I fucking love High Voltage and A Place For My Head.
I find it easier to find his weakest rap. To me, that would be BID. It flows well but it seems placed to make it more appealing to older fans who are familiar with the Chester/Mike interplay. So many good ones to choose from. Top 3 older would be Slip, In the End (Demo) and Carousel. Top 3 Newer would be WFTE with Apaches intro, W&K and probably Blackbirds. Too hard to choose just one.
To me some of his best raps are: last verse in UIB Spraypaint and Inkpens Hands Held High High Voltage Part of Me Outro
If I will start here, I'll never end this list. In no order: High Voltage And One When They Come For Me Blackbirds QWERTY Wretches and Kings Lying From You Hands Held High VICTIMIZED Papercut With You Dedicated Reading My Eyes Points of Authority A Place For My Head Forgotten By Myself In The End BURN IT DOWN Waiting for the End UNTIL IT BREAKS over Waiting for the End live. Part of Me Step Up Runaway Fuse Stick N' Move Pushing Me Away Easier to Run Untitled
For rhymes, Either And One outro or High Voltage remix, hell any of his pre-HT rhymes are awesome. In terms of overall lyrics, then Burning In The Skies. I used the deadwood to make the fire rise The blood of innocence burning in the skies I filled my cup with the rising of the sea And poured it out in an ocean of debris We held our breath when the clouds began to form But you were lost in the beating of the storm And in the end we were made to be apart In separate chambers of the human heart Such beauty.
So shake shake down, money here's the breakdown You can play the bank i'mma play the bank takedown And no mistakes now i'm coming to get cha I'm a Banksy, you're a Brainwash, get the picture? Vicious
I don't wanna judge anything that Mike has came up with.. Still I like his rap work on Meteora more than the others.. Stylistically and lyrically .. Somewhere I belong, Faint, Hit the floor, fig.09 ...awesome stuff.. Dedicated is also pretty impressive..Rap parts in When they come for me and Waiting for the end are really very much substantial. has a lot of depth.. even Until it Breaks.. Forgotten: I won't forget to mention that one...
Untitled. The lyrics is so awesome and it's much better then the album version, especially these lines: With the twilight, through the skylight End the highlights on a frame of steel See the brightness, of your likeness, as I write this On a path through (the way I feel) Hear the screaming, am I dreaming, as it's seeming That you've played your part Like you're heartless, take apart this In the darkness, but I know that....
Anyone who says Fort Minor lyrics suck does not know rap or simply to ignorant of rap. This also goes to the people who say that Kenji sounds off tempo. Fort Minor has a lot of West Coast feel into it. As a fan of West Coast Rap from the 80s and 90s, they're toooooo sweeet As for Linkin Park, my favorite Rap Verses come from: Wretches and Kings- These lyrics are really raw like a piece of steak. Hands Held High- These lyrics have a nice flow and synchronize smoothly When they Come for Me- Lyrics also flow nicely. When I first heard these, Mind was blown because I never heard or imagined such lyrics Waiting for the End- I just love these lyrics because they have a nice Reggae feel to them. Just like Fine Wine. Step Up- These lyrics flow easy, and surprisingly simple. Simple enough to follow and see the story Mike is telling. Part of Me- Has that aggressive tone to it, and Mike represents aggression and frustration very well in this song Papercut- This is as simple as his Rap verses can get. He depicts a nice story in this song, it makes you feel the emotion. LIES GREED MISERY- When I first heard this song, it made me reminiscent a terrible modern Nu-Metal Band, then made me think of Blackout, then I finally got behind these lyrics because these lyrics speak truth to me. I Have Not Begun- Has a nice underground rap feel Frgt/10- Very nice and chill song... High Voltage- Very aggressive, nice and easy flow. UNTIL IT BREAKS- My favorite of all. The flow, rhythm, and lyrics are just too mean and raw. NO MISTAKES NOW, I'M COMMIN TO GET YA INB4 Reading My Eyes has the best verses evar!
Fuckin' thank you!!! In the end demo was amazing! And now I see that I get no chance, I get no break Fakes and snakes quickly lead to mistakes And as the tightrope within slowly starts to thin I can only hope that they close their eyes For whatever reason that line always gets me. Its the one set of lines he's dropped that's truly stuck with me.
Reading My Eyes, espacially the live version on the LPU 6. [I guess that counts as a LP song, since they played it in 2006,as Linkin Park ]
