Exactly. Morello's playing in Take Five is almost genius.

Tool is notorious for their habit of writing songs in 7/8 time, which is the most difficult signature for anyone to play, least of all a drummer.

Almost genius?! It is utmost genious, the way he is able to colour his drum solos with amazing 5/4 polyrhythms and tom work was groundbreaking even to jazz.

They play a lot of 7/8, 10/8, 13/8 and 5/4, its really amazing the beats Danny can come up with. Lateralus is 7/8,8/8,9/8 which is amazingly hard but has some of the best drumming ever.

Whoa, somebody who knows their music theory, haha. Danny and Josh Freese as well (A Perfect Circle) have to play some really complex stuff.

    Danny Carrey (Tool)

    Josh Freese (APC)

John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) - Listen to Moby Dick. 'Nuff said.

Joey Jordison (Slipknot/Murderdolls) - To really appreciate how good this guy is, you have to hear his drum solo live first. It's fucking incredible.

Eric Carr (Kiss, 1980-1992) - I'm willing to bet I'm the only avid Kiss fan on these boards, and probably the only person who's heard of Eric Carr. Some of his fills and stuff sound like he's an octopus or something. It's a damn shame he died of cancer, because he was awesome. Damn good singer too, I might add.

Rick Allen (Def Leppard) - Gotta give props to this guy because losing an arm didn't stop him from being a great drummer.
