Aren't they Danish? Green Lizard Listen to 'One minute'. Peter von Poehl 'Story of the impossible' is just...orgasmic. Blonde Redhead (Something tells me that Kayce would like this band).
Try Pleymo or Enhancer. I also heard of a german band called Nevada Tan but I don't know what it sounds like.
Oh yeah... forgot about those guys. They were on PR 04 as well. Its like six-degrees of LP or something.
Mclusky They're summed up pretty well if you follow that link, they split up a couple of years ago though. Oh and Gareth Brown Says has the c-word in it.
Elvenking http://www.elvenking.net/index.htm I'm not sure how many people will know them on this forum. They are an Italian Folk Metal band. They kick so much arse The Wanderer is their best song in my opinion.
Hooverphonic A Belgian band they're a mix of pop/electronic/alternative, I guess you'd be able to call them an indie band. They're a well known band in Belgian and the Netherlands, but still unknown to the rest of the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hooverphonic http://www.hooverphonic.com/ http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=212302299 (there's just one song on here, people should check their videos on Youtube)
MuteMath.. i hadnt heard of them before untill someone on these boards (ithink it was Mark) pointed them out a while back now. they are top knotch.
Destroyer (alternative) Elvis Hitler (psychobilly) Ever-Loving Army (modern rock) Girl Talk (mash-up) Green Milk From The Planet Orange (prog) Jesu (drone) Margot & The Nuclear So And So's (alternative) Of Montreal (dance pop) On The Last Day (scene) Stateless (smooth electronica)
...and you're not invited awesome power pop / punk pop think the academy is... / i can make a mess like nobody's business / saves the day / etc etc
Fairly popular in Australia, but i don't think so in the rest of the world: Kisschasy - Aussie alt, punk, emo, indie, rock whatever.
Material Dream http://www.myspace.com/materialdream The band is great for soothing pop-rock. The drumer is a god.
Invitro, from California. The band features ex-Snot and Soulfly guitarist Mike Doling in their ranks and they're a very quirky metal-rock band. http://www.myspace.com/invitrorules
Here's where the elitist in tasta comes out and he plugs a shitload of unsigned bands! 80hd, formerly known as ADHD until some bitchy soccer mom claimed their name was "offensive" and she would take some kind of legal action against them if they didn't change it. They're a pretty straightforward 6-piece ska band with a great sense of humor, and a little bit of a metal side (check out "These Are Our Walls" on their first album). They've done a bunch of garage demos, a 3-track demo CD, a full-length called Catch You On the Flipside, and most recently released a 6-track EP called Your Daily Dosage. Their live shows are absolutely insane, enough so that they've opened for Mustard Plug several times and also played with The Toasters. Tin Armor, affectionately known as "The Three Matts" by people like me. They're a 3-piece straightforward rock band with some pop stylings (think something similar to Oasis). They have a full-length called A Better Place Than I Have Been. The Amputeens, they started off as a pretty generic ska band, then they dropped the horns and turned into a pretty kickass punk band. They've gone through a lot of turmoil and lineup changes, but through it all, they put out an amazing self-titled EP and a bunch of other random songs that have rotated on their Myspace over the last year or so. They're CLAIMING that they're breaking up after their next show...however they've "broken up" quite a few times before and then changed their minds. Ghost Town Trio, these guys started off in Cleveland and then moved to SoCal. then moved back. They play straight up anthemic rock with some folk influences. They're also one of the best acoustic bands I've seen in ages. They put out a couple self-produced EPs (the best being It's Time the Old Dog's Dead), then signed to Cool Hand Records and put out their first full-length, Lose Your Voice. I have a feeling they're gonna do big things. Icarus Landing These guys are a hard-edged metal band that reminds me a lot of Judas Priest or old Metallica. Their vocals might not be appealing to everyone, but they're mind-blowing instrumentally. They've put out a couple EPs, Evolution is their most recent one. They're also currently looking for a new drummer! Slingshot Dakota This is something different. Slingshot Dakota is a rock band that only consists of a girl who sings and plays keyboard, and a guy who plays drums. But that girl manages to make that keyboard sound like bass, guitar, and piano all at the same time. Their live shows are really powerful, and they've got a full-length called Keener Sighs. Sofapunch These guys broke up, and it's a damn shame. They were like a modern Chicago with a more ska-oriented sound, but still very progressive (They had an epic 3-part song called Fall of a Gunslinger on their one album, the whole piece probably went on for around 12 minutes). They were one of the best live bands I've ever seen in my life, and that includes major-label bands. They had a full-length called More to Lose, plus 3 songs that were recorded for their 2nd album that never came to be, and an acoustic version of one of the songs on the full-length. Look Afraid This band was formed by the former guitarist and singer of Sofapunch, and is more of a straight up rock band. They've only done a bunch of demos so far, but they're just as good live as Sofapunch was. Powerspace You might actually know this band, they're on Fueled By Ramen Records, which is a pretty big label. Their guitarist, Tom Schleiter, was the original guitarist of Sofapunch, and played on their one album. These guys are pop-punk, but in more of a New Wave manner, rather than the emo-tinged manner of some of their labelmates. I see them doing big things.
Want some Metal? Then check out: THY WILL BE DONE They're from Providence Rhode Island. They're great. Especially live. Hell, they've toured with Hatebreed quite a few times. I talk to the lead singer every now and then and he's a pretty awesome guy. So yeah. Check them out.
