Reportedly, Shinoda and Wakefield collaborated on this. First, it appears Shinoda owns the site. Second, Hahninator reported it on the LPMB so I trust it so far. EDIT: YouTube copy.
You can tell for sure the second vocalist (the singer voicing the puppet with the headband playing guitar) is Mike without a doubt.
Whether or not it's either vocalist's style is irrelevant. They're singing that way on purpose. It's mocking old '80s hair metal songs about banging chicks. That's made more than obvious by the fact that they're wearing hair-metal garb. Listen to the way the second vocalist sings "overseas." The way he sings the first "S" sounds exactly like the way Mike says it (or would sing it). Plus...it sounds like Mike. Imagine "No Roads Left" sung a little raspier...and that's what it'd sound like.
It has been verified by Pooch on his blog as being Mike and Mark Wakefield. http://poochblog.evilentertainment.net/index.php
The song/video and www.barackyourworld.org are all also hosted on Sparkart's server, and the song was originally posted on the same Youtube account that posted Mike/SOB's remix of Magic Doors by Portishead a few months ago. Mark does most of the vocals, Mike does the second verse/backups, and I'm assuming he played all of the instruments. The song as a whole is essentially a parody of "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake, a couple of the scenes in the video are even a parody of the music video for it.
I'm sure he's voting for Obama after Hands Held High and No More Sorrow, two back to back songs that SLAM Bush. And yeah, throw this up on the homepage mp3 download: http://download.wbr.com/bandbuilder/lp/BARACK_YOUR_WORLD.mp3 video download: http://download.wbr.com/bandbuilder/lp/BARACK_YOUR_WORLD_VID.mov The original video was here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gUDX4TJ9r0 on the "fmlovr" YouTube account, added September 5, 2008. It is presumed Mike runs that account since the last video there was an exclusive too (the Portishead 'Magic Doors' remix video). "Shout out to Mark on this one. You killed it!" is the comment by the account holder. http://reports.internic.net/cgi/whois?whois_nic=barackyourworld.org&type=domain WHOIS reports it belongs to Shinoda.
Cool song, you can totally tell it's Mike in the second verse, and Mark sounds really, really good! And the music itself is pretty tight, that is if they were written by Mike and Mark from scratch. If so, I wonder who's nailing that solo. I'm gonna have trouble finding a home for this track in my Rare and Unreleased collection. EDIT: Alright, I was bored. The lyrics to this song are awesome. Mike Shinoda & Mark Wakefield Barack Your World Mark Living in the White House Heartland of America We had some beers and shared some laughs You swore me in slowly Into your Pentagon And I showed you the meaning of "Chief of Staff" My three colors are Red, White, and Blue And there's only one thing I wanna do to you I wanna Barack your world I wanna Barack your world Mike People talk about taxes Gas prices are being raised(?) Raging wars in countries over seas All I know for sure is Baby, if you were my Iraq I'll never pull out, if you know what I mean (Means I'm gonna cum inside of you) My three colors are Red, White, and Blue I'm gonna shoot my load all over you I wanna Barack your world, baby I wanna stick my ballad into your box I wanna Obadilazie you, lady Your oval office is so sweet Secret service he might need I wanna Barack your world I wanna Barack your world, baby I wanna stick my ballad into your box I wanna Obadilazie you, lady Don't tell me no more lies You got a weapon of mass destruction between your theighs I wanna Barack your world
I was joking and yeah, I would post it as news myself, although if you make a big deal of how it's in support of Obama on the front page it might make the LPA seem a little bit impartial.
Baby, if you were my Iraq I'll never pull out, if you know what I mean (Means I'm gonna come inside of you) LP need to get lines like these in their tracks i must admit i lol'd at that
This is pretty hilarious and awesome. It does get me wondering if mike will sing more songs on the New LP album..
