I really hate Gangster rap. Sure. No bands, but gah! (There are some exceptions) @ Will: I will lol so hard when this gets closed. Discussions and arguements here are getting...laughable.
Slipknot. Jonas Brothers, Fall out boy, My Chemical Romance, Aiden, Tokyo Hotel, this might take a while so, let's just say I dislike pretty much every other band that sounds anything like that.
The Cure Fall Out Boy My Chemical Romance The Church Jimmy Eat World Anything of the rap & gangster genre Evanescence Blink 182 Plus 44 Simple Plan
Don't get the MCR hate, they're better than most popular rock bands out there. One more to my list: Slipknot
Radiohead The Bravery Chris Cornell w/ Timbaland Rise Against Angels and Airwaves Oasis Feist New Found Glory Thriving Ivory In Flames
Wow. Did not expect that. (do not agree either but that's beside the point) errr Miley Cyrus and her backing band. Most of what's played on commercial radio. Bring Me The Horizon (most deathcore actually, but at least the rest of the genre is pretty underground whereas these guys are every scene kid's favourite band) Coldplay The Killers Oasis Arctic Monkeys All grindcore, gore grind, cyber grind and brutal death metal (please note the brutal part, i can stand most other death metal) Hardstyle, and whatever these fully hectik muzza kids are shuffling too Nickleback and every band that sounds like them Is that it?
Nickelback Hinder ...and all of the American Idol winners and losers that got record deals, except Kelly Clarkson.
I find Sage Francis pretty boring. And I don't see what's special about Lil Wayne. I like some of the latter's music but I don't get how he's, according to some, the next legendary hip-hop artist when there are people like Lupe Fiasco and Wale out there, and that's just as far as crossover appeal is concerned. I also agree that Thrice are overrated, or at least The Alchemy Index is, and I think that's something considering that they're also one of my favourite bands currently.
I suppose I may as well put in my two cents. - Buckcherry - Hinder - Sublime - 311 - Nirvana - Pearl Jam - Alice in Chains - 50 Cent - Lil Jon - The Audition - Metro Station - Say Anything - Motley Crue - Slayer - Alkaline Trio - My Chemical Romance - The Used - Angels and Airwaves - Aiden - HIM - The Jonas Brothers - Audioslave - Soundgarden - Rage Against the Machine - Chris Cornell - Slipknot - Tokio Hotel - The Killers - The Hives - The White Stripes - The Smashing Pumpkins - Nine Inch Nails - U2 - System of a Down - Scars on Broadway - ICP - MSI - Hollywood Undead I was just naming them off as they came to me. I don't think these bands are necessarily "bad," but they're certainly not my cup of tea at all. I'll listen to them if I have to, or on occasion, but they don't get frequent circulation in my playlists at all.
I've got a couple of more to add - New Silverchair (I adore old silverchair though) New Powderfinger (I adore old powderfinger though) Funeral for A Friend Sum 41 Scissor Sisters Silverstein The Used
