Some of Slipknot's stuff sounds like Mudvayne All the rappers out there sound the same Backstreet Boys and Nsync sound the same All the pop stars sound the same
i agree with the creed comparison. Scott Stapp sooo wishes he was Vedder They even fough on Celebrity Deathmatch
You're not ####ed up. I've just never heard anyone say Staind sounded like Pearl Jam, that's all. Most people say they try to copy Alice in Chains. lol.
no...I'm just ####ed up
Creed, Nickelback, Default, Puddle of Mudd, Third Eye Blind, all sound alike to me. I just classify them as 'Redneck Rock.'
Really? Mudvane and Slipknot do not sound alike in my opinion. Mudvane is more tolerable to listen to than Slipknot.
Both bands are really close friends and got their starts together, but now they are both claiming their own sounds. I don't think they sound alike anymore, to be perfectly honest. Maybe vocals just a bit, but other than that, they don't sound the same anymore.
Actually I think the opposite, the only "hard" song by Hoobastank are Out of Control, Crawling in the Dark, and maybe Same Direction. Anyways both of both are pretty soft.

Well that's new.. :wth: The only reason that Creed sounds a lot like Pearl Jam is because Pearl Jam is Creed's biggest influence. The same goes for Puddle of Mudd. Puddle of Mudd's biggest influence is Nirvana, and that's why Puddle of Mudd sounds a lot like Nirvana.
This has been a great discussion so far guys, keep it going! Anyways, I'd like to make the point to Will that 'influences' are good, but when the band mimicks the influence's style (Ex. Puddle Of Mudd) then thats clearly a band that is resorting to being successful on what has been done before. When I mean 'unique', I don't mean the tone singer's voice; they're all different. What I mean is the distinctive qualities in the music. For a band like Linkin Park, you know its LP....you hear the rock mixed with the samples and Mr. Hahn's definitive scratching (IMO he's the cornerstone of LP). When you look at a band like Tool you notice the amazing drumming of Danny Carey, the pounding bass of Adam Chancellor, and the spacey guitarwork of Adam Jones held together by Maynards voice. The instruments, not only the voice IMO should have a distinct personality. That's why I like Dream Theater so much, John Petrucci blazes along with his heavy riffs and solos, Mike Portnoy is a fiery juggernaut on the drums, Myung is a silent prescence on bass, and Jordan is creative with his immense technique! That's what I think a band should be like!
Korn,Slipknot. They both screem in all of there songs. THe whole way through. And then Nickleback and Creed. But those 2 bands are kewl.
