I just find it hilarious that everytime we think we know all there is to know about Hybrid Theory [the album], another demo CD comes out that completely re-writes the history of that disc . Because of this CD we now know that: "With You" had 3 names during it's production (Dust Brothers, Now I See and finally With You), that many songs lacked Mike's familiar adlibs/prechoruses until further on in production, and that Plaster in it's original form (before David Kahne's "remix") was nearly identical to the ECW/Rock Mix of OSC. What mysterious demo CD is going to appear next to change Linkin Park history again as we know it?
I love the sound of all of the demos here. I'm really surprised no one has brought up the line "Just like before" in this version of Plaster. So much good stuff on this disc. Thank you to all of those involved.
Could the name "Dust Brothers" be an accidental thing? Since it was sampled from that group, and the Studio Finals had a naming error on Pushing Me Away and Cure for the Itch messed up. Potentially Papercut, too, unless the space was added and removed before the album
Hahaha! Whoops! Haha! Well, I kid you not, comprehension has always been a challenge for me. Good shit anyways!
What amazes me is how none of these demo CD's track amounts have conflicted with eachother yet. We have a 2, 6, 7, 8, and 9
Thats true, it will happen though. Its just a matter of time. We'll have to call them something else, possibly by their date or whats on them.
First we'd need to get the real date formats straightened out Not exactly on topic, but sort of is. Anyone know where the demos for Walking Dead and Its Goin Down came from or if they're even legit demos?
Walking Dead demo was from an unmastered promo copy of Shifting Gears that had alternate mixes of some of the album tracks. It's Goin' Down "demo/promo" mixes were from an album advance promo for Built From Scratch.
