Well hopefully he'll read the thread and give a little bit of backstory. He did that when we joint-released Plaster with a few other fansites, so it'd be cool if he did that here too.
When I hear demos like these I just can't decide which ones I love more: the demos or the final mix. There are so many different details in all of them! But usually I'm more excited about the demos. They sound more raw, like a garage band and I love that!
i love those doomy strings on Papercut and that sound on OSC before the bridge, and the lack of Mike on OSC sounds so weird lol,With You made a great improvement since the demo it's awesome thanks for sharing.
wow, I had that points of authority track 2 years ago, but I didn't get it from this disk. Unfortunately I have no memory of where I got it and I no longer have it... till now.
The way Chester sings/screams the last "tomorrow" in Dust Brothers is super kickass! I still prefer the final With You version however, the chorus feels way more complete with Mike vocals in it, and so feel the intro and bridge with the scratches. Maybe because I'm too used to it ^^
Still prefer the final mixes, but it's neat to hear how the songs evolved. It compelled me to listen to Hybrid Theory again last night, which was a nice nostalgia trip. Thanks for sharing this with the LPA, Ginger!
This demo of papercut sounds so much darker and depressing especially mike's rapping sounds very creepy
Agreed. I thought Mikes vocals did sound pretty creepy. But I guess since the song is about paranoia it's fitting Where is Mike on OSC? Only time I ever hear him is in live versions. This demo of Plaster kind of sounds the same to me, minus the obvious vocals that aren't mixed well yet.
With You is pure awesomeness! So much Linkin Park music stuff this year! I have a work-in-process playable list of Linkin Park demos. These aren't on it though. http://lpsurface.webs.com/demos/
