I dig it. Now just a couple more weeks. I hope pre-orders show up a few days ahead of street date. Mine is already paid for, so I don't feel guilty (all the same) for hoping this. Besides, who's to say it won't premier a week early on iTunes radio?
Familiar without coming off as a carbon copy of content from their first album. Not over the moon about it, but I will rocketh out to this hard either way.
Haha, yes in all seriousness I've seen MUSE live listened to their entire recorded career including all b-sides and the guitar work to songs like "New Born", "Stockholm Syndrome", "Citizen Erased", "Knights of Cydonia" just to name a few certainly cement Bellamy's legacy as a legitimate guitar god. Plus Bellamy has actually invented numerous original guitars to complement his creative genius of playing guitar.
Was skeptical when I heard the preview and the live bit, but my mind changed quickly. This has a little bit of everything, heavy riffs, rapping, screaming, and a catchy melody.
Anyone has cleared up the lyrics of the song yet? From what I can tell, I really like Mike's verses, but I'm not able to understand disctinctly all of it
While I agree this would be a better radio single than UIG, I also think that this doeesnt mean UIG is out of place. Sometimes you have to have a break from the heaviness part way through the album. and UIG is a still a good song with high energy. It may not be heavy but it has some energy to it IMO. And I think it will make sense in the album as a whole and bring the heaviness down for a notch. Plus Im sure some people would complain if every song was heavy
Verse 1 Uh! This is war with no weapons, marching with no stepping Murder with no killing, ill in every direction First, no sequel, do the math, no equal A John with no Yoko More power, less people And no, I'm not afraid of that, print in your paperback Every rapper's made in fact, to act as a delayed attack Every phrase a razor blade, and save it till they play it back Slay em leave em laying on the paper bank, fade to black! Verse 2 Roll credits, forget it, the show's done, They're talking for just talking, meaning they got none, None of you come proper, they talk like a shotgun But how many got bred with integrity, not one So no, I'm not afraid to see you suckas hold a blade to me, Ain't no way to shake the ground I built before you came to be, Take it how you take it, I'm the opposite of vacancy, And this not negotiation, I can hear you, wait and see!
I would be really surprised if they didn't. Considering that they do a new First Listen just about every week and Living Things was available to listen a week early before iTunes radio was even a thing
Great track. The only critical detail I have is the bridge, it seems to be missing something. Definitely could be filled with a guitar solo or made longer. The screams Chester added during the song made it even more epic. Just my two cents. Overall 9/10.
I told myself I was done listening to things from The Hunting Party until the full album is available. I caved as soon as I saw the link. lol So pumped to hear the full album. I love GATS and Wastelands and also dig Until It's Gone. This is shaping up to be something special.
Getting a very distinct HT era vibe from this song... esp from the verses. Mike came through. Love the song but I wish the hook had a more inspired melody, it sounds a bit dull.
