Ahaha I can't even listen to that song or Lip Gloss and Black anymore. My exboyfriend ruined those songs for me.

Which sucks, because they were my fave songs =[

Who is it then if it's not Atreyu?

    Anyway

Every song off Suicide Notes is a good song, A Vampire's Lament and Tulips Are Better are my other favorite songs from that album.

I don't understand why bands aren't allowed to change their sound. If they didn't at least try, I would get tired of them seeing as it'd just be the same thing record after record.

I like the new Atreyu, but I can understand the point of view of not liking how their sound has evolved. I went through the same thing when Minutes to Midnight came out.

Almost every band goes through it. Things change, and a band can't live off the same sound for 15 years or people will get tired of the same old shit and they'll eventually fall by the wayside.

If a band changed their sound because people were getting bored of their old one (and the band still enjoyed playing that sort of music) then some would call that selling out.

The reason bands change their sound (usually) is because they're bored of playing their old stuff.

People don't get bored of a band if they keep releasing the same album slightly varied. I could name hundreds of bands who never changed their sound one bit and still earn a living off it.

I don't like the new Atreyu because, plain and simple, they made it sound way too simple and cheesy. They absolutely are the worst live band and their records before A Death Grip on Yesterday are pretty technical. I've seen them live three times -- they nail all their new stuff and absolutely can't play any of their older stuff. I believe that's why they changed their sound, to make it easier on them. Hell, even when I saw them right after The Curse came out, they were God awful. Alex forgot half the words to "Bleeding Mascara" and later "A Vampire's Lament" and all the solos were wrong and sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. I don't like it because they took away all their energy and ferocity and turned into a cheesy radio rock band (albeit one that's never played on the radio).

Again, to each their own, but that's my reason.

I was gonna go to this year's ToC, so I guess I'll find out how bad Atreyu are live first-hand, haha.

I quite agree with that. Ever noticed the difference in the "Don't Stay" played earlier and the same song played now? There's a hell lot of difference. The newer one lacks energy. Look at live videos, you'll see that there's no enthusiasm in playing the older songs live, especially on Brad's part. He just appears bored, and that's not how I like to see them.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that they've made a full transition to mainstream rock.
