I think they are great, seeing them live was so much fun. The lead singer brings a case on tour with him with a bottle of wine and his wine glasses, and when I saw them in Santa Rosa he was showing it off, saying it was the only place in the country he could do that without getting his ass kicked, since its wine country.

BTW, are you back in California yet? If so, welcome back!

 

I just thought it was weird that bands like Kill Hannah and AFI have played/will be playing in Petaluma...it's an awesome place but it's so small! Especially weird considering the much larger Santa Rosa is only like 20 miles away aswell...Then again Petaluma quite obviously has a strong youthful music scene. Will probably be moving there in the future, really cool place.

And yes I am back in California, I got back on Monday evening...it wasn't without great difficulty though. My flight was delayed by 2 hours, which was obviously to be expected with all the latest crap that's gone down. The only problem was that I was like the fifth person to board the plane so I was on that plane for 13 fucking hours lol.

Then when I landed US border patrol told me that they don't like people staying for more than six weeks on the visa waiver program (even though it says theres a 90 day limit at a time) so they detained me in their offices for 3 hours while they checked out backround info, opened my checked bags and opened a load of presents I brought back with me for family. They spoke to me like I was shit and at one point told me they were sending me on the next flight back home. I think in the end they took pity on me because it was the holiday season but it looks like in March I wont be coming back until I get some solid papers which is in the works anyway but I'm not coming back on the visa waiver program any time soon that's for sure.

The Phoenix in Petaluma is legendary, its been home to some really big name bands, Metallica has even played there, in 1991. I love that venue, and the owner, Tom, is one of the coolest people ever.

Wow, I hope you get that sorted out, I can't see how its a problem when your mom lives here all the time.

I'm in the US to focus on my creative projects...it's just a better atmosphere to work in, no distractions. I am considering going to college aswell though.

Well that's the thing that mystifies me...my Mum is married to a lifetime US citizen and we were told by government officals at the San Francisco immigration centre that I would be fine coming and going on the visa waiver program because of just that. The border patrol thought otherwise though.

We're certainly gonna book some more time with the immigration centre and ask why the fuck I was treated like a criminal - by the letter of the law I've done nothing wrong.

The thing that really pisses me off is that it's only recently that this has become a problem - shortly before I came over back in September the US immigration law stated that any child of a spouse married to a US citizen was permitted residency as long as the child was under 21. For some reason they lowered that down to 18 so when I turned 19 in July it effectively fucked up any chance of getting US residency without feeling like the government doesn't want me here.

It's really fucking stupid...my Mum is my only parent and come March, if I have to go back, I won't be able to see her or my step family for a year because I'll have been in the country the 180 day per year period limit. Where the fuck is the sensitivity? The only biological family I have back home is my brother...

And Jen, yeah I've heard of the history of the Pheonix. It makes sense Metallica would play there in their early days seeing as most of them live in the Bay Area. Shortly before I went home for christmas I went to Terra Linda right near where James Hetfield lives.

David Tennant's finale completely broke my heart...

 

I'm still using the same mouse I received in the Dell box when I got my computer back in 2005. Never felt the need to upgrade. But I just might have to now. It's been through quite a lot lol.

 

Andrea if its possible, open the mouse up and take the ball out, theres little wheels in there that it turns, and if they are too caked with dust and stuff it affects how the mouse works, you can clean them off with a q-tip.

 

I can't help but laugh at how seriously some people take the facebook 'in a relationship' status. Jeez.
