also, Pink Floyd is the greatest band fucking EVER for late nights.

 

Last night sucked. I met up with a mate of mine and he disappeared, then I found two other people I know. One of whom fucked off to get with some guy, and the other one decided that talking to my ex was a great idea. So I left and walked home, which took me over an hour and a half.

 

Today was so awesome. Saw a great local post-metal/doom/drone thing play with some other bands in a tiny record shop.

 

I gave up on Twitter haha

 

This new law they're trying to bring into play for people who have downloaded music is fucking stupid. Disconnecting people from the internet for downloading, under the pretense that it's to support the artists, is bullshit. For one, most artists don't give a shit if people download their music because ususally, that's what they get THE LEAST MONEY FROM. It's the record labels that make most of the money from CDs, and as they're sold for such ridiculously high prices, considering it costs mere pennies to make the CDs anyway, the amount of profit they're making is criminal.

So I say "FUCK YOU" to this new prospect, and instead feel that the record companies need to be forced into lowering the prices they stamp onto CDs. In doing this, they may even have more people buying CDs.

And I don't care what they say, I believe that online CD sales will not beat out physical distribution. People want and end product, one they can hold and own, that is distinctly theirs. Online music sales do not provide this, neither does illegal downloading. Plus, why the fuck shouldn't you be able to download music? In my eyes, it provides a type of testing. Why should I pay for something that I'm not even sure I'm going to like?! You don't go into a clothes shop and just buy a T-shirt, or shoes or whatever without trying them on, so why should you just buy someones album outright without having any idea what it's going to sound like?!
